I hum a tune in my head over and over and over and over and over again.........

I stopped shooting for 2 months. I just got back to it the day before. I shot 97 for one 10rd set.

It's my own method. I also tell myself that if I can't perform, no one else can.

You're bored.

You need a little bit of caffeine for your match. I would recommend 2 cups of tea, or half a cup of coffee. 1 hour before the start of your shoot.

I'm serious.

I used to shoot only targets. I did not understand why some shooters shot blank cards, and I told myself that I would never shoot blank cards unless I understood why I have to do it. Turns out it was a good decision. As I progressed, I realised I was going for the 10 with every single shot. That low...

I've done both methods, although for some reason I seem to favour the raising to target method. My investigations into the 2 methods raised other questions, I thought I might share it with you lovely, lovely people. You know, when you raise your arm, there are some of use who feels the "torque&...

You know, after reading your post again, I realised that I may not have given you the right tips. Your problem is not anxiety. Your problem is that you are a competition perfectionist. Your tolerance for error seemed to have reduced without you being conscious of it. I think for now, you need to tel...

1)FOAM EAR PLUGS. 2)Don't talk to anyone. Unless absolutely necessary. That includes your friends. You will appear unfriendly and aloof. 3)Don't look anyone in the eyes. Very important. 4)Think of a tune you like, play it over and over again in your head. Yes, if it helps you should do it while you ...

Adding ballast weights

Is there a rule regarding the adding of ballast weights on a pistol? I know weights can be added along the axis of the barrel, but what if I wanted to add some weights directly behind my rear sight? Is there any rule against that?

Personal advice: A good group is usually achieved with little or nil(very hard to achieve, trigger may jam) travel after the triggerpoint. You may say that the trigger finger holds down the pistol and stops the jump immediately upon discharge. Worth looking into. Applies for LP10 as well. That too ...

Re: New gun

To upgrade i want to find a pistol with: - better grip with more vertical angle (i hade to push the wrist down to align with izzy), and grips hurt my wrist and my finger. I want to find a pistol that let me apply pressure to the trigger without disturbing sight alignment. LukeP. After a few months ...

I must say that I am no expert when it comes to triggers but my experiences with adjusting trigger weights and experimenting with them has brought my score up by at least 20 points. Here's my take on this. The trigger's function is to release the shot. There are many factors regarding trigger charac...

Ok, I don't know if this was your problem but...... Check your body alignment. Never use your arm or some other parts to artificially bring the sights in. If the sights are not in, close your eye, shift your whole body, then open. Repeat till sights are in. Trigger off in a continuous and smooth act...

800ft.....that's about 1.8 deg celsius drop in temperature on the average. I don't have a chart that compares temperature with humidity, but where I stay (in the tropics) a 2 degree C drop can very much be appreciated!

I would not encourage changing how the actual target looks. If training a certain aspect of shooting, one should clearly differentiate between simulating actual competition shooting, and several other kinds of form(or technique) training. As many shooters will say, you gotta treat the competition ac...

I might be wrong , but i thought everyone has a dominant eye & hence a weaker eye ( apart from Steve Austin of course ! ) It's actually incorrect to refer to a dominant eye and a weaker eye. Dominance is not like handedness in that it's more likely the dominant eye is the weaker eye as it does ...
