Re: uncalled rules violations??
Gold medalist in 25m men's rapid pistol was wearing a cap with a Beretta logo on the front in the finals at the World Cup. This is clearly a violation. No interpretation needed. Rule 4.5.1 Additional restrictions for ISSF Championships ...... No manufacturer or sponsor identification is permitted on...

uncalled rules violations??
This has been discussed on TT a number of times. Still don't understand why the officials don't do anything. Just finished watching the men's 50m finals at the World Cup in Korea. Pecker (HUN) in standing had his pistol grip and forearm resting on his chest and his rear sight was touching his face a...

One or 2 clicks up and right would have produced even a better result. The weighted average of your group is clearly low and left.

Sanderson at Rio World Cup
What happened to Keith Sanderson on 8 sec series on first day of Rapid Fire at the Rio World Cup? He was posted with a zero and no shots were displayed.

Re: NCAA college air rifle score analysis
It would be interesting to see what kind of scores would be shot by today's top shooters using no special shooting pants and a jacket with no stiffness at all (like the old 10-X models with leather shell and corduroy liner).

NCAA college air rifle score analysis
I just did a little analysis. In the 2005-2006 school year the first 600 air rifle score was fired in collegiate competition. Before this year (2021-22) there were a total of 12 600's fired. This year, there have thus far been 6 more. The top 20 air rifle averages this school year, as of 2/6/22, are...

Not sure of the complete logic behind this as I started to use it 55+ years ago.

I bet someplace like Hillsdale College or Liberty University would love to be the site of a new national shooting center and would help significantly with the funding.

Re: Six Olympic Medals for USA Shooting, Best Performance Since 1964
Is there a difference between an Olympic "USA Shooting athlete" and an Olympic shooting athlete from the US? Pat Spurgin was 18 when she won the Olympic gold in women's air rifle in 1984, but I guess that does not count in USA Shooting's eyes since they were not formed until about ten year...

Re: The winner of the Women's 25m Pistol Olympic Final is....
Pardini has come a long way. We got our first PGP's in 1983 and our first SPE's in 1989. Got them from Fiocchi of America. Purchased because they were really inexpensive, around $700. Less than Hammerli and Walther, which were over $1000, if I remember correctly. Sort of funny, but we thought the Pa...

The NRA person listed on the Sectionals results page as the statistical officer has not worked there in a couple years. She left before the Covid furloughs.

25mm distance (~1 in), makes for an inexpensive very short range, but the reduced size targets are really really small.

Re: Grant Funding for 2021?
We submitted a NRA grant request and the state committee met to make its recommendations. The "word on the street" was that there was more money available than the requests received (Covid-19 program shutdowns I guess). Our field rep made up for the lack of Friends of NRA fundraising dinne...

Re: You rifle shooters have my respect!
The air rifle game has really changed. At the USISC (US International Shooting Championships) in 1974 we were shooting outside in the desert north of Phoenix. As I recall, I won the collegiate championship with a score of 354/400. There were two collegiate shooters shooting air rifle and the other o...

R.I.P. - Art Cook - 1948 Olympic Gold Medalist - 50m Smallbore Prone
Arthur "Art" Cook, 1948 Olympic Gold Medalist in 50m Smallbore Prone, passed away on Feb.21, 2021. Art was an active competitive smallbore shooter for about 50 years. I had the pleasure of being on a Camp Perry national championship 4-person smallbore prone team with Art in 1989. https://e...
