Thanks for that. One can never be 100% sure that nothing was compromised, but all the evidence points to that fact. It's always best in such situations to assume the worst first as it costs nothing for people to change their passwords (always a good idea) and/or usernames. The real issue here of cou...

Hi, can't let this post sit here without posting a reply to it. I'm the sysadmin for that site and I had some email correspondence with 'Guest' on this subject. He pointed out that he had received an increase in spam since he got our notice, but I'm inclined strongly to believe that they are not con...

New slide assembly from Pardini
Just got this email this morning from Pardini. Anybody with a Pardini will know how easy it is to remove the slide, so this upgrade will be very simple to fit. http://www.pardini.it/immagini/logo.jpg Slides with an integrated damper that reduces the pistol recoil. Thanks to the removable elastomer r...

I would never consider Sius Ascor targets as an option, they are horrendously expensive and IMO they are slightly dated. The thermal printer system is expensive and unnecessary and I never liked the monitors. This is the target unit we have: http://www.megalink.no/images/4k560.jpg That front cover p...

At our last 25m pistol match (standard pistol) we had 4 IPSC shooters enter. One of them was pretty good for a beginner (scored about 490) on his first attempt and two others were in the 470 range. All of them enjoyed the competition, were very impressed with the electronic targets and promised to c...

In addition to what welsh-shooter is saying, it would be instructive for our Armerican cousins to think what life would be like without the second amendment..... No, really think about it. Think of all the political statements that have been uttered over the decades about gun ownership and what many...

I feel your pain! Though they're not hard to dismount and store. The Magalink ones we have can be dismounted very quickly indeed. Keyhole slots in the fram make it very easy and quick. The Hardox steel plates are held on by gravity and velcro and can be removed in about 5 seconds (they're the heavie...

I'll add that the current rules make RF a pain in the neck to score...shoot a series, go down and score. You spend more time scoring than shooting, unless you have the Suis-Ascor targets. I'd like to see the rules modified to have a full half-course shot before each scoring session, just to speed t...

I don't believe that the electronics are the most expensive parts of these units. Software and software development would seem to be engaging most of the resources of these companies. Once you have the circuit boards designed, they would be easily and cheaply reproduced and even upgraded. The other ...

I think the main problem with cost is the small market. There are still not that many ranges equipped with electronics and it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. Having said that, it's not *that* huge an investment. Look at the cost of paper targets, especially the larger 25m pistol and 50m rifl...

Re: Random Thoughts on Electronic Targets
1) The basic technology used by Sius Ascor is over thirty years old. Given the huge price drops for other electronic devices (e.g., calculators, personal computers, cell phones) over this time period, why haven't electronic targets also become cheap and widely available? Well firstly, they have. Ma...

Chinese shooter Zhang Pengui disqualified
Zhang Pengui was disqualified during the second qualifying round for three breaches of the ISSF rule 8.6.1.4 - raising the pistol too early. He was in 6th place going into the 2nd round, so he had a good chance of making the final until his head melted :( 8.6.1.4 If a shooter raises his arm too soon...

Chen's pistol is not just an IZH-35M with Morini grips is it? I don't think so. The back sight f the IZH is a good deal deeper on the IZH then the one on Chen's pistol. Here's a side view of the IZH: http://www.baikalinc.ru/res_en/0_value_3681_188.jpg As you can see there are a good few differences.

He did check her pistol. Presumably he saw that the slide was half open (or some other visible malfunction) so he would not need to touch the pistol. The strange thing was that her malfunction was on the 2nd shot but she didn't raise her hand until the others had fired their 4th shots (could have b...
