Here are a few more pics. Others I have are too big to upload.

Mk4 Thumbhole stock
Here are some (poor quality) pictures of my Mk4 ISU. The stock was built by the same man who built the ali stock, a guy called George Simpson, who was a gunsmith in the North East of England. Most of his work was on pistols, and after the handgun ban in Britain in 1997, he retired and went to live i...

Ali Martini Pics
Here are some pics of the MK2, which unfortunately I no longer own.
I will try to post some pics of my Mk4, with American black walnut wooden thumbhole stock.

Position
If I am reading your post correctly, I think the clue is in your first post. ' I have around 30 degrees of angle on my body'. As has already been suggested, I think you need to square your position up. I would suggest that you should be lying at an angle of around 15 degrees, which will allow you to...

Triggers
I use a 1607 in a Gemini stock, and at 5'9", my hands aren't that big, but I don't have trouble reaching the trigger. Have you tried moving the trigger blade further back? I prefer a 2 stage trigger, although of course it is a matter of personal preference. As long as you can feel the 'stop' wh...

Martini
I posted those pictures. Rifle is BSA Mk2, with aluminium stock made by my local gunsmith George Simpson, now retired to Scotland, who also polished the blueing off. When I first got it I thought it was a stainless barrel. The action is glued into the stock so the barrel is free-floating. I later bo...

cheekpiece / sights
"Getting my eyes lined up down the sights, neck relaxed, shoulder relaxed has been the most difficult for me. " Try doing things in reverse. If you can shoot at a shorter range, say 25 yards, try removing the rear sight and shooting without it. Relax your neck and shoulder muscles and let ...

shooting exercises
Hi Ten Dot One of the most useful exercises you can do is dry-firing, but it can get a little boring after a while. However, another exercise which has similar beneficial results, is to shoot at the back of a target. For this specific exercise, however, NEVER aim at a bullet hole or other aiming mar...

Anschutz 54
Great advice 'Dude, but why does everyone forget the 16 series (with the 'X' suffix after the serial number)?
Or did you not want to complicate things any further?!
Cheers

Pain issue
There are 2 seperate issues here. 1)Choice of stock can be as important as choice of action. You can have the best action in the world (arguably a Bleiker?), but if the stock doesn't fit you won't realise its full potential. I had a 2213 stock, but had to sell it because of the pain it caused in my ...

Indexing barrels / bore curvature
[quote="KennyB"]"On another site there is much discussion regarding bore curvature and how the orientation of the barrel effects the grouping ability of the rifle. The suggestion is that a slight downward curve to the bore produces the optimum results with minimum horizontal dispersio...

Selected barrel
If you had a later model, say an 18 or 19 series (or even a 16 series), then it would probably be worth putting a new barrel on (Hart, Lilja, Shilen, Benchmark etc), but with an older 54 from the 60s I believe that you will be handicapping yourself with an inferior trigger (although still quite good...

Diopter sights
David
The Daisy Avanti sights referred to by ddmondo are aperture sights similar to early Walther air rifle sights.
I do not believe the he / she was referring to a diopte / diopter lens system as offered by Gehmann or Centra.

Stock
Whilst the old 2213 stock will fit, the obvious choice is the new 1918 'Precise' stock.

Torque settings
I believe PaulB is referring to Paul Gideon. My understanding is that he tests from the prone position. What is perhaps more amazing is that he has different torque settings for 50m and 100yards. Not only that, but also different settings for iron sights and scope sights! A lot of work. Is it worth ...
