Welcome Crosshair, There are a lot of intelligent and experienced shooters on this forum. If you have any specific questions I recommend a search of the archives before diving in. Chances are good the subject you have a question about has been thoroughly explored. In the event it has not, it will be...

Best Tip

Every shot should be a surprise. Your attention should be on sight alignment, your eyes focused on the front sight, your body positioned for natural point of aim and the pistol set in your hand for natural (or as close as you can get it) sight alignment. Using an aggressive trigger squeeze to initia...

RFU, My wife shoots RH LE dominant. Never had a problem with it while shooting AP or .22 gallery. As you indicated you can switch for AR on the dominant hand????!!!!! You might consider using a shade/blinder and staying LH/LE dominant for AP. With AP it doesn't make a lot of difference because recoi...

Best advice I can give you is shop around. There are a lot of good used older model APs out there. The Steyr line is favored by many of the shooters posting. I tend to favor FWB. Morini is another good brand. Lesser known brand names have comparable pistols for much better prices. If budget is an is...

Jipe,
I double checked what I wrote and found out a missquoted the manual. The FWB manual "doesn't recommend" the use of hand pumps for the 700 line.

I'm thinking that may be a result of increased moisture.

Good Shooting,
Phil

I have the Gehmann FX and have been using it for about 2.5 years. I read all I could find on the subject when I purchased the pump. The condensing system in the Ghemann pump was noted as very effective. I wasn't worried about moisture content until a couple weeks ago. If you fill more than one AP cy...

Julian, Sorry this is so wordy. I hope it helps. Here is what I have been doing. I introduced my three oldest to pistol shooting about 6 weeks ago. They are 13, 12, and 9. The 13 and 12 year-old have done very well and improved quite a bit with the few sessions we have had. I am using two APs and a ...

Mills, With a FWB P103 you should have "bei" stamped on the rear sight. The FWB sights are designed to follow the shot. Adjustments are "with" the shot group. Yes, it is counter intuitive to everything you have ever experienced in an American manufatured arm. As you noted, the si...

I shot with a C-10 for three years. I highly recommend it. Co2 pistols had some problems with consistent pressure around the time I was using my C-10. I can not say it was a factor I ever observed. Getting Co2 may be a challenge. Medical CO2 bottles are the best and can be obtained in smaller sizes....

Lets assume that pellets have a fixed diameter of, say, 4.5mm. Further assume that an international rules commitee has established a standard scoring device, based on the previously assumed fixed pellet diameter, designated to be 10 meters from a firing line. Scaling a target for less than the estba...

AlbertB, I am laughing almost too much to type. Nice dig on the equation and good comic relief. Obviously there isn't some quantum anomaly that resizes pellets to sustain a proportional diameter from zero meters to infinity. It could be the next million dollar widget, though. The key to using scale ...

Great conversation all. Two points I would like to make based on how target geometry was explained to me. Base assumption (until some can document this). The Black on a target is optically set to be equal to the ten ring at 0.0 meters(yards) [basically, at the muzzle]. The range is not a factor exce...

The P56 isn't looking too good. I'll see if I can get my hands on either the Steyr or the FWB for a test shoot. If I'm lucky, maybe both. My local store didn't have either one in stock last time I checked. I'll post my impressions if I can make it happen. Please keep posting your thoughts on the sub...

What a great string

If I follow this correctly the original issue was wobble and how best to even it out. Not withstanding the many great posts on rythm, sight alignment, and trigger control I didn't see much on one of the most fundimental aspects of a stable shooting platform; STANCE. Each person's stance is going to ...

Good feedback on the LP50

Thanks for info. I was aware that PILKGUNS sells the LP50. Their web page was where I got most of my information on the LP50. It is difficult to make a good assessment off a few pictures and sales comments. The LP line gets a lot of good press. I was hoping to find out more info about the P56. With ...

What score is good for MOD 65

Bryan, I started with a mod 65 back on the team at school. I shot it for two years then moved up to FWB C10. Loved the C10 as we always shot three gun matches (standard, free, then air). I found the crank fatigued my wrist quite a bit. Back then I was shooting 2 hours a day, 5 days a week, 10 months...

Rapid fire air pistols

I know that the ISSF has some rapid fire air pistol events. I am currently debating between two semi-auto air pistols: FWB P56 and the Steyr LP 50. I have a couple of FWB single shot pistols I enjoy a great deal. The cost for the FWB is around 1800 USD and the 1675 USD for the Steyr. What few articl...

P44 or P40

I realize this is an old thread but may have some useful info. I own both a P40 and P44. I find both air pistols to be exceptional. The P40 is much improved over the C10. The rear sight is adjustable in width at the notch and radius using a hex key screw. Unlike the P44, the P40 does not adjust in c...
