Re: Define "Fair Compensation"
Canadian media has not published how many died from gunshot wounds and how many died in the fire (since it has not been verified yet), so I'm guessing that information must wait for an official release. I hope the situation reverses quickly. According to a report from an ex-neighbour, the RCMP was n...

Re: Define "Fair Compensation"
I'm not really sure how this will come to an end. It doesn't begin to address the problem of violent thoughts turned to action. Sadly, Covid-19 has claimed a couple of magnitudes more lives without the slightest hint of firearms. There was (as with most countries) a severe lack of fore-thought when ...

Re: Steyr LP50 and LP10 Grips
The grips for the LP10 have a plastic spacer in the bottom of the handle cavity that must be removed to use the grip on an LP50. Rink grips are not the same for the two guns, as they are made to produce a better fit between the shooter and the gun. You will find that the factory clamping screw is a ...

Re: IZH-46 Pistol rebuild
Flint-lock, please check your private messages and give me a call before you do anything to your IZH-46. They are very good air pistols for the ISSF 10m match. Some people don't appreciate them but that is mostly due to prejudice and ignorance. I've used them for some years.

Re: advice on starting up an old CO2 pistol and tank?
If the CO2 tank was owned by the same person who owned the gun, chances are that it is ready set up to use. It will need to be tested before it is refilled (that's the law if the previous pressure test is more than 10 years ago). You need to keep the cylinder from the pistol cooler than the charging...

Re: Doubt with a brand (Help please)
I cannot tell what kind of grip it is at all, but I can tell you that there are many people who can make such an item in this world. Why not take out the guess work: look her up on Facebook, contact her, and ask her what grip she was using.

Re: Steyr LP10 weak cylinders after 6 year break
I ran into the same symptoms with my LP10 about two years ago. In retrospect it appears that the culprit was the pin and valve. Store your pistol with the cylinder completely removed for a few days and try shooting it again. Also, store it in the uncocked position. What happened with mine was the po...

Re: Redfield Target Sight question
The International rear sight has anti-backlash springs, and the Olympic rear sight does not.
The International Mark 8 ("MK 8" is stamped on the windage knob) has 1/8 minute of angle clicks, the others are all 1/4 minute of angle per click.

Go to the following: http://www.pilkguns.com/tenp/spmc2-3.htm Scott Pilkington has set up and maintained the "10P Philes", which contains some / all of the information available on the pistol in question. There it is listed as the MC 2-3. We don't have a symbol in our alphabet for the &quo...

Re: what is the min max scope of left right top and bottom adjustment of pardinikids and styer lp 10
My LP10 rear sight is about in the middle of its run, and it can be moved 76 clicks left, which is about 9 cm (76 x 1.2 mm). That is for the full sized LP 10 with no extension of the rear sight. I expect the rear sight can be adjusted 9 cm to the left or right of the centre line of sight.

Re: MATH RIDDLE: sight adjust from 5m to 10meters
This is where your shooting diary comes in. You leave the pistol sighted for 5 m, then make the necessary adjustments on your sighting target at the match, and record that information for future use. The exact number of clicks depends on the velocity as well as the pellet weight. If you want to same...

Re: Is TOZ-35 free floated, does it matter ?
The barrel on a TOZ-35 is short and stubby (relatively speaking). I'd bet that contact with the wood has exactly no measurable effect on the accuracy of that gun (with a human shooting it). If you are worried, simply sand a little of the fore-stock away. The clamp to the trigger box is probably plac...

Re: A valuable service
I'm only postulating here: the ISSF headquarters is in Germany, so what ever laws are in force in Germany apply to the ISSF regulations. I'm now not postulating: aluminum alloys (of which most cylinders are made) can develop microscopic fractures from mechanical stress leading to (catastophic) failu...

Re: recoil absorber purpose? follow through?
I just thought I'd remove the stabilizer for the heck of it and to see if it makes a noticeable difference. I prefer the feel with the recoil. Besides, the stabilizer is only activated with a live shot. It doesn't occur with dry firing.

Re: LP50 - Heavy Trigger
I guess $300 would get you a whole trigger unit, and about $10 would get you the spring (if you don't need to change springs on a daily basis).

I had an LP50 at one time, and only and exactly one spring needed to be changed to go from the heavy to the light pull. I changed mine over to practise for CF.

Forums/Web Sites dealing with long range centre fire rifle?
I know of several very fine web sites which cater to ISSF small bore shooting (this one in particular). I've been looking for any equivalent web sites dealing with ISSF 300m, Palma or Bisley style shooting. If anyone out there knows of some (especially those with classified ads) please let me know. ...

Re: Hämmerli AP20 Pro Carbon
The range of adjustability for the trigger on the AP20 is significantly greater than for the LP10. The muzzle jumps much more on the AP20, but if your hold is very consistent that won't matter. I had an AP20, and I really liked the fit, and the trigger. When I have the money I'll get an LP400. I sho...

Re: Suction Cup Iris for Glasses?
If you send me an email address I'll send a photo of the shooting glasses I used to use. They incorporated a Merit iris. They are not very fiddly if you know what you are doing. You really need an assistant to place the iris and suction disc on your glasses while you are aiming. You only need to do ...
