just find it is not always that clear which bryan you are refering to, possibly because I dont know much about bryan zins to instantly pick who it is. what hope has a newby got, makes things very confusing. frame work is the basis of any attempt at working towards being the best, never said it wasnt...

bill, figure you are refering to another bryan, i have won alot more than 8 national titles, but not any yet in pistol. i think at a point, (noted to be around ap 570), it is no longer managing just the body, but mostly the mind. hence 90/10% mind/body in saying that, you still need to measure what ...

BP, sorry if you are thinking I am bashing and snipping steve. I am no academic, so I am lacking in expressing myself tactfully. I think steve is fine. If steve took it personally I hope he lets me know. 90% or more of his content is o/k, and new shooters should follow it as close as possible, but a...

need to hook new shooters first, then show them more as required. As for shooting blank targets, the reason for doing it are varied, but not purely for the sake of doing it! Also- the shooter should be developing a good sense for when his/her own mind sees the proper conditions. A coach can't see wh...

yer, my native language is australian, I have a lot of trouble with steve as well. down here we speak english! you can argue all day about the process of how to fire a shot because at the end of the day it is not that important. it is important that it is sustainable for you. it is important at the ...

So what did bill do? Steve, I guess it was short of the ap 565 goal. I would assume this is what you are training at, which is how you set your goal of 565. 20 points short of training is a solid enough effort, and typical of the plan you used. so I would say the results were as expected. this would...

our attitude is how we perceive everything, thus how we behave. you can choose to act in a certain way, but this may not have the affect of moulding our attitude into a winning one. assuming you need to change it! i would be putting the word behaviour in the context you are using it more as shot pro...

Your behaviours determine where the shot goes - it's a result of your actions not something you directly do. Perhaps not the clearest wording, but you don't train to shoot tens you train to shoot technically good shots - those shots result in 10's. posted the second part a few times myself. behavio...

steve, you been put to the test yet? long 6 weeks. "Simply put, a hole in the paper you can't control. Your trigger action you can control. So you should focus on the behavior of "trigger action" and not even measure or worry about "holes in paper." So who controls the holes...

I like jacks picture, any closer and the blade starts bleeding into the black. my gap is a lot less than that between the front/rear sights. I have also noticed my hold is not that steady compared to top shooters. maybe why if I open up the gaps my groups go with it. I dont seem to hold it steady en...

hi, also new to ap, on official target, sub 6, (normally recommended), is in the white below the black area. 6 hold is just touching the black. centre hold, bit more obvious. I like a more defined aiming area, but focus is on the sight alignment, this is most important, the fuzzy target not so impor...

steve, what are you doing? the last thing you need to be doing is this type of thing if you wish to reach your goals. if you are looking for some gred, reach all your goals at nats. I would not enter any mental type debate till the comp is over, then by all means discuss the results. My competition ...

shaun is using his technique to determine performance. you are using results and place. maybe I got it wrong? still time to set new match goals shaun was giving an insight into his long term goals, not one for a comp 4 weeks away. I guess if you are happy with your goals, thats fine. revist this in ...

shaun, best of luck with your goals. one point, 2012 is not far away in shooting, you need to be ready 2 yrs before at least. other point, goal of making the team is not so good. when you make the team, then what? time between selection and olympics is not that long to then make new goals. so make t...

I find it interesting to read shauns comments.

shauns goals are on the right track.

steve, I was expecting something a little more advanced. In my opinion these goals are not suitable for high results. they will tend to increase anxiety, dependend on your confidence levels. being you are already making excuses, confidence will be lower than what it has been. I would be avoiding anx...
