Federal 711
From what I understand 711B was developed for specifically pistols (US Olympic team????) and the 719 for small bore rifles. Both are in identical boxes except for the small code number written on one end. There have since been Gold Medal 992A and UM22A developed, both of which I think are for rifle...

Re: toz 35
Free pistol asked; Does moving or changing the amount of weight change the point of impact? I don't know if it changes the point of impact. We never tested for that. I can't see how it would affect your shooting unless you were going to change the position of the weight during a match... Who would ...

barrel weight
I believe Neal's gun came with the weight. I handed his to the guy who made mine. My 1964 toz35 looked like it had been used with a similar weight (light wear on the bluing) but none of the toz35's I have purchased or seen other than Neal's came with a weight. I am sure the location of the weight wi...

Like your weight idea. The reason I had to reduce weight was to make it about the same as my air pistol. My arm was hurting by the 40th shot, in free pistol, and quality of shooting went down at that point, I tried aerobic and the funny ball but the gun was still too heavy for my comfort. That migh...

barrel weights
Had a friend drill and turn a brass bar then cut it into two different lengths for two different weights. It is slotted on the top to fit the front sight post. I can use one or both and move them wherever I want on the barrel. It uses an allen screw on the bottom to attach. This is similar to the on...

Had a one piece grip made that screwed on to the rear of the frame (drill and tap a hole). I can still mount standard toz35 grips via the side mount holes in the frame but you only get one screw on each side.

firing pin issues
When ALL else fails, sometimes it is necessary to reshape the end of the firing pin. Be VERY careful. If it is too sharp you will pierce the case and get hot gases escaping from the case. If the firing pin is hitting too far out on the case it is hitting the fold of the brass and not setting off the...

best size pellet
The US Shooting Team used to get several cases of pellets (25,000 pellets/lot), usually H&H, at once. When team members came to the OTC we would mount guns in a vice and test different lots in each gun. One year Crossman brought some pellets in for testing and they shot as good as the H&N in...

CO2 issues
The only problem I ever had shooting CO2 is when shooting in high temperatures. If the liquid CO2 gets above 87.8 degrees (critical point) it no longer acts as a constant vapor pressure above a liquid and cylinder pressure increases. When the pressure increases the gun usually fails to fire. The mec...

FWB Model 100
Bought one of these guns in 1989. Single stroke cocking lever, velocity tested at 465 ft/s at 6000 ft altitude with the old 'Meisterkugln (sp?) pistol' weight pellet. Very consistent velocity shot to shot. Very accurate gun. I would be shooting it today if not for the muzzle heavy design that is nec...
