It may well be all they had in their collection of flags. Thailand has always been a good friend of the US.
I would not attribute to malice, what could better be explained by simple ineptitude (is there a better word for this?).

Re: AR clean bore
I know nothing about air rifles, but simple logic would tell me that unless you're using medical grade compressed air (and you're not) then discharging air through your rifle is introducing fine particle contaminants into the barrel (the air was not perfectly filtered going in). Do this enough and ...

A fairly typical bureaucrat's response. Firstly, they confuse crime with safety. Secondly, because bad people hurt others with guns, they try to keep guns out of the hands of the good people.

"By the way the ideal gas equations use degrees kelvin so an increase of 20 degrees C from 10 to 30 is not actually a huge amount as in the formula it goes from 283 to 303deg K.." Yes, both pressures and temperatures are from absolute zero. We can pretty well neglect the pressure differenc...

Re: Friendly advice to new people: ball joint allen wrenches
Be careful with the ball ended wrenches. They have significantly less contact area to get that little bit of an angle. It's entirely too easy to strip the hex out of the screw, especially stainless screws. Especially flat head screws that have a reduced hex. It's common enough that there's a term fo...

If you don't care then I agree with Muffo: Ng 20x33 spotting scope is what you seek They are a nice piece of gear. Packs into a really small case. Re: End cover Hammerli 120 frozen...Please help
Try a spray can of "freeze" from an electronics store. Alternatively, a can of "canned air" (which isn't air) held upside down will have the same effect. It is a spray of liquid that rapidly evaporates and will chill whatever it's sprayed on. Spray it on the inside part to shrink...

Sorry. Lead oxide is actually softer then lead metal. They most definitely won't scratch your bore.hundert wrote:yeah, throw them away, the lead oxide is harder than lead and could scratch your bore.

Re: .45 options that aren't 1911 or similar grip angle?
Is it the case that a full 2700 is a rare thing these days? I'm really just trying to increase my opportunities to compete. If I can do that with a non-.45 then I would, but the 1800s around here seem to throw out the CF portion and keep the .45 portion. Maybe just roll with my revolvers until I fe...

Ace Hardware? Those seals are not typical O-rings. I wish they were, but they are a trapezoidal cross section. The wider bottom face fits into an undercut in the breech itself. Fire the pistol with the breech unlatched and the seals will launch themselves across the range into the dark, dusty corne...

Add to that the costs of a scuba tank at about 225 (maybe) and the yoke adapters at maybe 150, ... A used tank from a local dive shop will likely go for around $150US and come with current inspections (annual) and filled ($10 to $15). Yoke adapters can be had on ebay for anywhere from $20 to $180 f...

Sheesh! Laser pistols? Really?
Do they swim in dry pools and ride hobby horses? Run on treadmills? Maybe fence with foam rubber foils, too.
Maybe synchronized pentathlon. They could wave ribbons behind them. I see that's done in some other of the new age events.

Re: Ramped barrel High Standard?
I've seen a couple of variations on homemade ramped barrels for HS. One involved adding a bit of weld in the right place, another was a bit of a screw into a hole drilled in the breechface. Both involved a lot of hand shaping for a minimal ramp. Obviously, some care needed to be taken in placing the...
