Re: Why only one firing pin?

Good rimfire ammo has very uniform primer around the rim. Cheaper, less so. That's where a double firing pin might help.

It's also likely why Remington advertises Ely priming in their target ammo.

Re: Precision Revolver Questions

Thanks Norm... One quick question: Can you load .357 cases with 158gn LSWC to reduce the jump to the rifling or is it against the rules? Thanks DAF Has to be 38 specials. The rules for DR are only one paragraph. Worth reading, not interpreting. I fired the entire match single action. To me, DA is f...

Re: Precision Revolver Questions

Some of the best DR groups I've seen shot were with a Ruger GP-100 with the six inch barrel and the stock Ruger grips. I went DR and came in second (by one stinkin' point) in the Harry Reeves match in 2007 with a bone stock S&W 38 special K-frame (older than model numbers) with Uncle Mike's rubb...

Re: Practice pellet recommendation and source

People talk about finding bent skirts or other deformed pellets. Has anyone tried firing deliberately deformed pellets to see just how it will affect the target? About what effect it might have.? I've tried a set of ten slightly deformed skirts: no effect. I shot as well as ever , or as mediocre. :)...

Re: Frt sight focus issue or slow speed

Interesting. I typically only see the pellet if I'm concentrating really hard on the front sight. If I stray out to the target, nada. On a side note, I shoot with a guy (master bullseye shooter, national record S ) who says he watches the target in air pistol. Claims that he can see and read the num...

Re: Steel pins all over the grip

I heard of a guy that attached part of a cheese grater to the frame of his .45 in an effort to improve the grip. He didn't understand why his hand bled every time he fired the pistol. This sort of thing just isn't needed in air pistol. And if aluminum oxide is cancer inducing, then I must have died ...

Re: Precison Pistol-Timed/Rapid Fire-Target Orientation

They are supposed to remain edged between strings and faced for scoring after any refire strings are completed. There are some range alibi situations where the targets are to remain edged, but those are fairly rare. I've found that shooters BSing instead of scoring is the biggest time waster. No mat...

Re: Decreasing sight radius - initial impressions.

I tried similar adjustments on my Walther. Moving the front sight rearward gave the illusion of less wobble. Meh. After a lot of fooling around with it, I went back to the farthest forward position. Happy there. I moved the rear sight slightly forward with the idea of having the blade centered on th...

True. But it is deformable to match the sealing groove. Once that's been achieved, no more torque.

Re: Sight blackener

The Anschutz lighters are charged with acetylene gas, vs. the usual butane. Same gas that wet carbide "rocks" produce. Nice & black.
