Re: Flying with rifle case

While not United airlines, I've flown with the Pelican big case (1750?) with an M1 Garand and an AR-15 inside. 49.5 pounds. No overage charges even mentioned.

Re: Steyer or morini and tank or compressor

SCUBA tank. You'll likely fill it once or twice a year.

Recommend buying a used tank from a dive shop. That way it will come with all inspections (hydro and borescope) done and most likely filled. Buy a used one from an individual and you will likely need the inspections done soon.

Re: Some help with translation please

When the Air pistol range was on commercial row at Camp Perry, they had one of these scoring machines. A very wonderfully precise bit of machinery.

No one (including me) had any idea how to work it, but it was neat to look at.

Re: Scatt vs Noptel vs Rika

I have a Rika. It's limited by the ancient software, which Rika seems to have no desire to update. The system itself works well, but you need to be able to run Windows XP at the newest to make it work. I'm running XP as a virtual machine under Windows 7 Pro. That's the newest system that you can do ...

Re: Air Travel with an Airgun

My last trip through C-Springs airport was 2014 for the JO. In 2015, we flew through Denver for some reason. The TSA guy at C-Springs seemed like an ex-cop. He had the "attitude". He asked questions & I answered that the tanks were empty. He seemed convinced that they were CO2 pistols,...

Re: Pumping up these STEYR tanks HELP!

In new jersey I can't get it filled unless I have a divers license so one tank has to last a while. If I was to find a full small tank on Craigslist will any tank work we these parts you mention (Scuba tank with either a 232bar Din valve or a K-valve and a 232bar Din yoke adapter). I do have an oxy...

Re: Air Travel with an Airgun

Here's a helpful site. http://deviating.net/firearms/packing/ I've flown out of C-Springs with air pistols: detachable cylinder, Baikal and Alfa Proj types. Got the most questions about the Baikal. Never had a firearm of any type turned away. For some reason, TSA doesn't seem to consider pellets as ...

The Walther and Steyr tanks I've seen have both dates: manufacture and "good until" dates.

You can also thread a bolt in there to help you pull it out if you need to change the seal. Changed my first seal after 5500 pellets.

Re: Pellet testing for big boys

This guy was at the Junior Olympics at the OTC in Colorado Springs. He was testing pellets and making recommendations for size pellets in peoples' guns. He used a wood jawed, woodworking type vise to hold the air pistols by the air cylinder. Had an electronic target that just showed groups, no scori...

I've shot with Sushil Mehandru several times in AP matches at CRRC in West Windsor NJ. He was shooting mid 580 scores at the time. Needless to say, he won those club matches. He's a very nice, soft spoken guy. I understand he's a kidney surgeon in his spare time.

Re: Use of PTFE sealant tape with CA

Sounds like it's acting as a solid lubricant for you. The original seal was intended to be the O-ring and that would be the best solution to your problem. But if it works, go for it. You've already stated the obvious precautions. I use it occasionally to make tapered pipe threads work in high vacuum...

Re: TAU 7 - its CO2 cylinders and options...

I've had no problem at all bulk filling our group's Tau 7 Jr. Mostly having the right adapter, a bulk tank with a siphon tube and a little patience. I don't think we've ever shot it with the little bulbs or cartridges. We get 40 to 50 shots per fill from the 250 gram cylinder. And doxens of fills fr...

Re: Travelling on Airplane with an Air Pistol

Sparky's pertty much got it. I've been through several US airports and not had any real problems, even with detached air cylinders. More curiuos questions than anything. Trenton NJ, the TSA gal asked me if it was unloaded, handed me the tag and said just put it on the belt once it's locked. Never ev...

I'm up & running now. I have a serial port Rika on a laptop with no serial port. The USB version of Rika hardware may well be easier. Here's the basics: Windows7, any version but "home". I upgraded from home to professional for $20. Download VM, virtual machine for free. Windows7 home ...

I've been torturing myself with this machine for a couple of hours now.
I used to think I was a decent shooter! My hold looks like a bowl of well mixed spaghetti!

I can see the potential, but right now it's painful to watch.
