Re: RFP visualisation
Thank you, that link works much better. It is a good find and lots to be learnt from viewing it. I have loaded it into my YouTube watch later list so that I can review it again.

Re: Adjusting the recoil buffer Morini CM22 RF
Thank you for this information. I have just bought the alloy version of the CM22 RF and was having massive problems with it misfiring. I had had similar problems with the CM22 SP that I had prior to the RF pistol. Both were second-hand and both had to go to a very respected gunsmith who cured the p...

Re: Rapidfire Pistol Training Drills
Please understand that the following does not come from a champion rapid fire competitor. I am not. However, I have done a lot of research into the subject and what it takes. The following is a summary of what I have read to date: Rapid Fire is a match of muscle memory. Dry fire is your friend. Fi...

Re: New Pardini models
Very nice but also the price is somewhat off-putting. I suppose if you are a championship winning shooter then the cost is acceptable. I need to improve, massively before I could justify such a purchase.

Re: 25m RFP Proposed changes
In the 3rd Quarter USAS board meeting, Cassio Rappel from Brazil was a guest speaker. He commented on the fact that the athletes on the ISSF board got together and came up with a proposal about Rapid and Sport. These are the only two shooting sports that are completely different for men and women. ...

Re: 25m RFP Proposed changes
Forget the Olympic television coverage for a moment. They only concentrate on what is easy to film hence the massive coverage of track and field and swimming events where the results are always win or lose. Where a sport is determined by subjective standards the public lose interest except for the c...

Re: 25m RFP Proposed changes
Gentlemen, I do not see that Olympic pistol disciplines should be structured around what is common or available in the USA. Just because there is a dearth of facilities for the discipline where you live is not a reason to delete it entirely. There is considerable history and infrastructure for shoot...

Re: Rapid Fire events
Oddly enough, where I live in Australia I have two clubs offering rapid fire competition and if I am prepared to drive about 2 hours there are another two clubs offering the discipline. One of the local clubs hasn't been offering the discipline recently as they also conduct other ISSF disciplines bu...

Re: Side Effects of Sudden Interest in Olympic Shooting
For me the side effect has been increasingly watching ISSF videos of rapid fire shooting on YouTube. I continue to be fascinated by the different styles of shooting and the inanity of the commentary.

Re: I want advice for Improving Precision in 10m Air Pistol Shooting?
There are on the internet diagrams showing what the errors can be based on where your shots are landing. They are usually in the form of a circle representing the target and showing the reasons why shots are landing at the various positions around the circle.

Re: Shooting competition attire
From the ISSF Rules, albeit this may be quite old now: "6.20.3.1 Prohibited clothing items for competitions and Victory Ceremonies include blue jeans, jeans or similar trousers in non-sporting colors, camouflage clothing, sleeveless T-shirts, shorts that are too short (see 6.19.2.8), ragged cut...

Re: Morini v Pardini Rapid Fire Pistols
Why are you considering this ? If you just want a new toy, go ahea, treat yourself! :) If you shoot a lot of 5 target rapid fire pistol, how's the Morini not suiting your needs? I would definitely try to find one to test before buying. And now that you are at it, test the Walther SSP too. Pardini u...

Re: Morini v Pardini Rapid Fire Pistols
Considering that you already have a Morini CM 22 M I would not consider buying a RF version of either brand unless you are planning on replacing the CM22. The performance difference between the standard and RF is an insignificant advantage for most shooters. I would save the money.....my personal o...

Re: Morini v Pardini Rapid Fire Pistols
From what I have seen Morinis are quite finicky on ammo, and they have some adjustments like variable hammer springs which allow you to mess things up further. Pardini firing pins do break, and you must keep the sear well lubricated with moly grease or they will wear out, develop steps. Its quite e...

Re: Am I too old?
May I suggest that setting a goal such as competing internationally at the outset is not helpful. However, at 23 you have that chance but there needs to be intermediate goals. I am 73 and took up pistol shooting only 5 years ago. I had shot pistols back in the late '90s but due to work requirements ...

Re: Morini v Pardini Rapid Fire Pistols
Thank you all for the information. The matter is still under consideration as I am in no haste to part with the money required for either. It doesn't hurt that the Australian importer only has Pardini at the moment.

Re: Shooting competition attire
I have been watching a number of ISSF videos of rapid fire competitions and apart from some national insignias or flags it would appear that anything goes - hoodies, tracksuits, t-shirts, shorts.
