Re: special spectacles for airpistol shooters
Nobody seems to be familiar with a phenomenon described as focusing insufficiency where one eye is slow to adjust to where the other eye is looking. I have the problem, recently discovered, where ,without correction , means I see 2 of everything . My left eye is SLOW to physically move to where my r...

Re: Is any crimp required for wadcutter bullet reloading?
I’m with David M . On my Dillon Progressive, I used the 3rd stage to seat only, leaving the 4th position for a Redding CRO HRP. (Taper crimp) as a dedicated station.

Almost forgot … Bullet
Seating and slight roll crimp at Station #3 OR Redfield Special Taper Crimp at Station #4. Depends on the gun I’m loading for.

Re: Best powder thrower for .32
My 2 cents … Been using an unmolested 550c for decades with standard Dillon
powder thrower AND the EXTRA SMALL POWDER SLIDE p/n 20780, tossing Winchester 231 under SWAGED 98 gr. lead BBWC or HBWC. SPEER (if I can find ‘em), Magnus or Bear Creek Supply.

ELEY .177 Airgun Pellets
FYI : When I checked Killough a few months ago for a case or two of for Eley .22 lr, I found a pretty good price on .177 airgun pellets ,too.
ELEY Ventus .177 cal/4.50 mm, 450 count $12.95 each. Not cheap, but reasonable .

Google "air gun parts canada" and you'll find several sources.

Re: I give up. O Ring material for Steyr CO2 LP5
I used a Canadian source when looking for replacement o-rings for my Domino /FAS 604.
Plenty of air gun parts sites on the 'net.
Do NOT use grease or any petroleum lubes because they will eat up your rings. A silicone lube is recommended.

Perry 1980 First year. .45 rapid fire . Hand loads, Jim Clark 1911 conversion.
Ready on the Firing Line ... 2 shots off ... Goddam stove pipe? Unconsciously swiped at it, cleared it and somehow got the rest of the string off with two 10s and one X. Not my favorite shot, but my best recovery!

Re: New Manurhin MR73 Match shipment arrives in Oz.
I still drool over the MR73 I saw and handled at the only gun shop in Geneva, Switzerland years ago. Very expensive. Ended up back in the States with a beautiful M14 that Don Hamilton had worked some of his magic on. To top off my visit, the shop owner invited me downstairs, two floors below where h...

Re: 1984Trials
Among the introductions Don Hamilton made for me was Ginny Greider's husband, Bob. He showed us some DA revolvers of his that had actions you couldn't believe were possible. Two excellent gunsmiths!

Re: Darius Young - Obituary
Gotta dig into my photo archives from back in 1984 at the Olympic Trials just east of Los Angeles. Somewhere I have a pic of Doc Young, Don Nygord and one other (3rd place?) on the winners stand for Free Pistol. Looks like Doc is two feet taller than Don, but that had no effect on the scores. If I ...

Re: Scoring 32 as 38
IMO we're having a moot discussion now. There are several variables we haven't even touched. #1 I'm more comfortable shooting my FAS.Domino 603 or Hammerli SP-20 in the Int'l CF Match (from the bench/ready position) rather than my .38 spl revolver or Clark-crafted .38 on a .45 frame semi-auto for ob...

Re: Scoring 32 as 38
Trying to trick us, huh?
If the2 shots go in the SAME hole, you are correct, but if they don’t, the scoring plug might give you more, that is, closer to the bullseye, no?

Re: Scoring 32 as 38
If they're still available, the Hammerli SP-20 should be added to the list of great .32 S&W-L target pistols. I got mine from Hammerli pre-Walther. Handles 98 gr BB and HBWC over 1.8 - 2.0 gr of W231 and other powders.

Re: Twist rate for .32SWL for 50m
Seems we're bordering on silliness now. To the best of my memory, there are no pistol marksmanship competitions at distances of more than 50 meters. Both the 98 grain HBWC and the BBWCs can be made to give X-ring hits with the right combination of powder, gun, barrel, twist rate, et cetera at 50 ft,...
