AMT pistols in general have a poor history regarding quality issues. Their stainless .45 acp series (Hardballer, etc.) were poorly made (metal galling, poor plunger tube design, and on and on). The only AMT pistols without poor reputations were the AMT-Backup series, small self defense products. Tar...

If too much lube is the problem, do like the Star press people did ... drill a hole in the seater stem so that the accumulating lube flows out to the top.

Can I assume he's talking about the old acetylene (calcium carbide) lighter that we used 40 years ago? Little silver canister, put in a rock of carbide, add 3 drops of water, close it, strike the flint and stand back !!!

I may have an extra but getting the carbide might be dodgey.

With the price of new brass at 20 cents (or much more) each, look for once-fired unless you absolutely need new. Thought I remembered comments about Starline new brass having overly thick case walls. I bought a case of Lapua a few years ago at 11 cents delivered from Canada (I know, I know) and am s...

FAS/Domino Trigger Box

Although this page is from the 602 manual, it should apply to the 603 as well.

Make sure the grip screw has been re-tightened properly. If the grip is slightly loose, the shots will go awry. Happened to me a few months back.

I reply to myself.... 1) I don't trim cases, even though I can see differences between different brands. 2) Roll crimp, but I'm searching for a Redding profile crimp. I'm not so sure that a roll crimp could be better than a taper crimp, if the round feeds the gun... 3) Lee Classic Turret in manual ...

Re: A little survey on .32 S&W Long wadcutter...

Some questions for the shooters who reloads .32 wadcutter: 1) don't laugh... do you trim your cases? 2) which kind of crimp do you use? 3) manual or progressive press? 3) which brand and model of press? 4) what is the best speed range of your rounds? Thanks... 1) No trimming. Use Lapua brass exclus...

Re: Fas 602 recoil spring.

Any advice to substitute Fas 602 recoil spring? Factory ones is about 10$ each and get shorter in few weeks, where i can find a substitute with better quality and stronger power? Thank you, LukeP. Be careful what you wish for. Better quality, stronger power? If the factory recoil spring works, don'...

Two comments ... the magazine followers do indeed get gummed up with grease from ammunition, preventing them from getting that round up in front of the bolt. the simple solution is to disassemble them once every month or two and clean the followers with carburetor cleaner or other parts cleaner. kee...

Go to gun-tests.com and search for the article "Winner’s Circle: X-Ring .45 ACP Loads". Read about Massachusetts' own Marty "Babe" Magnan, first shooter to go 2600 at Perry all with revolvers. He's also broken 2650 more than once. Those of us who know him consider Babe a real gem!

And, if you get the terrors thinking about opening the hammer box, you can replace the entire hammer box assembly for around U$150. Neil Step at ISS in Texas still has two last time I checked.

Re: FWB Model 2 - Anyone familliar with these pistols?

Can you provide some information as to the performance, reliability, servicability of these C02 guns? Are there any issues or concerns with these pistols? Regards, Tony I think the model 2 was FWB's first venture into CO2. It was very accurate and reliable. Mine had four CO2 cylinders, some of whic...

The third seal that IrisM isn't seeing is hidden from sight, but clearly illustrated in the two schematics. If I remember properly, a bit of valve disassembly is required to get to the third seal. I doubt that a new valve is needed, unless of course there has been physical damage to the original. Th...

Here's a factory schematic. Three O-rings, all in the same place. The big O-rings on the cylinder should be changed only if the replacements in the trigger valving don't work.
