Re: Smallbore Buttplate Case Recommendations

My Opinion: I'm a fan of removing the buttplate(s). Then you can fit in a 44" case like the IM3200. The longer cases usually won't fit in the back seat of a rental car.... If you are looking at NCAA then getting your Air Rifle and the Smallbore in the same case is possible - OK so you take them...

Ole Miss needing a new coach

Happy/Sad. Proud dad boasting of a daughters wedding. So many "kids" I have not seen in years ... was wonderful to see how they have turned out as adults. They are packing up in Oxford today and u-Haulng Rachel's stuff to Statesboro. Some pics from friends who were there. https://my.guestp...

Scott, I'll attest that vision issues can put you down so much. On my 4th cornea transplant in my right eye (dominant) and it seems crippling - but life goes on.
Hoping and proaying all the best to all you are going thru... You've always been so helpful to me.

God bless

Re: Great Coaching Experience with Bob Foth – Highly Recommended!

Bob is (and has always been) a great coach.
All 3 of my girls (and I) had attended his pairs clinics back in the 2000's and they all became accomplished shooters.
I feel mainly because of his early coaching in their careers and getting their positions correct.

Keep up the good work Bob!

Re: College Teams?

NCAAs this year were really great. Amazing shooting. Air rifle final was pretty exciting. Just as nice the Intercollegiate championships have been picked up by ASSA after NRA has dropped the ball on youth shooting. https://www.americansmallbore.com/intercollegiate-2025.html (And I say that sadly as ...

The longer barrel is also much thicker (thus heavier). Also a longer LOP
You want the CM-2 JR.

Gonna be hard to find as they were stopped from being imported by Obama

Re: WTB: Ways of the Rifle

Probably the classic 3-P book. I know I paid $65 for my first copy & $70 for my 2nd.
If you try and find them prepare for about $200ish.

Re: Kid will need glasses

As someone who has been in glasses & contacts since I was 6 years old - get the vision fixed .... the quality of life goes way up. If he is going to need correction his whole life, why NOT start now? (snicker - now 61 years ago) In terms of shooting - These are many sight mounted, glasses mounte...

Maybe they'll leave the rules alone? :-)

Always waiting for them to shift 3-P to Decimal and see all the handwringing.....

Re: Crosman Challenger CH2021 Windage Problem

Can you rotate that bbl weight/sight mount to the right (clockwise)? This is a fairly common goof from Crosman. (Poor quality control) (Even on the 2009's) If the flat is too close to the correct position to tighten the grubscrew down, I'd find the correct rotation then just put a touch of 5min epos...

Re: Changing Butt Plate on Anschutz 1813 Match 54

Tim - Thanks. Seems like a lot of variants. I bought this over 13 years ago when my daughter was in high school as a used "1813 Supermatch" - dunno know it that was true, but it has more of the what you describe as a 1913 pattern? She shot it in college to great effect (NCAA champ) but I'v...

Hey Tim ... as one that has multiple "1813" style rifles/stocks .... could you maybe post pictures of your "variants" described?

Re: Cost of Orion, Keeps Going Up

Only an opinion - no data to back this up: 1) Orion is the part of the company that funds the Athena stuff 2) A lot of the JROTC programs are using Athena, so more help desk support required ... so, back to #1. I will say that when ORION first came out, it was a heck a a lot better than plugging hol...

Re: difference between 10 click and 20 click Anschutz sights

Some comments here - I may be FOS, but wth - here goes: Back in the day of integer scoring for air rifle I think 10 click sights were just fine ... a 10.2 was as good as a 10.9. Now ... not even close ... with decimal scoring I think a 20 click sight is the way to go... way easier to creep up on the...

Re: KK500

How big is your daughter? For a gal or smaller guy, the lite barrel makes it a touch lighter and if necessary you can always add weight (either in the stock under the bbl or on the rail) My daughter shot one a few years ago and had both those weights added as well as a Upta tube/tuner on the front. ...

Re: Club/youth smallbore rifle options

I think blg is looking for guns that are "international" 3P style rifles. Very hard to find here in the US these days. I'm always on the lookout for 1912, 1914 rifles as well as the FWB2700 (lites). Almost anything in LH I take a serious look at .... nothing sadder than watching a lefty tr...
