Re: Define "Fair Compensation"

I read that in the latest killing spree, the murderer killed 13 with firearms and then lit fires to kill 9 more.

Canada needs to ban matches and lighters too.

Re: TSA and Firearms at Colorado Springs Airport

We all know about our guns and air cylinders. Many understand the physics regarding pressure, air expansion, and etc. However, I'm going to play "devil's advocate" for a moment. A person intent on committing a crime based on hate (terrorism) sometimes works hard to accomplish their goal. I...

Re: Boy Scout Rifle Shooting

Ok, so perhaps you can be a rifle merit badge counselor, but, from what I said above and what you posted, you can't teach anything and you can't supervise shooting activity unless you have the required certification. And, from what I read, you can't sign off on anything that wasn't taught by an cert...

Re: Boy Scout Rifle Shooting

The Guide To Safe Scouting says you must have NRA or BSA Rifle Instructor certification. The BSA Shooting Sports book has several requirements. You must have 1 certified instructor and 1 certified RSO for every 8 scouts on the firing line. The instructor and RSO can not be the same person even if th...

We bought one and tried it and it worked well. For the money, I like them. We will buy more.

Re: Daughters starting in Sporter Class air rifle. Which gu

Any place that fills paintball co2 cylinders can fill the Daisy co2 cylinders. Get a spare and do two at at time. If you are in a club and have several co2 guns then consider getting a bulk tank. Welding supply in our area carries the tanks, but, make sure it has a syphon (dip) tube or you'll have t...

Re: Looking For Someone To Improve Avanti 753 Trigger

The 753 used to come with the trigger screw installed. If not, it can be added to all of the 853/753/953 etc rifles. However, if you aren't comfortable drilling the back of the trigger guard to install the screw then just order the 888/887 receiver/trigger guard from Daisy. It's the same part, but, ...

Why not use an unweighted 499 and whittle the stock as necessary to fit. They are MUCH easier to cock than a Buck, safer and full size they only weigh about 3 lbs.

Just saw this thread. I guess the JO Qualifier will no longer be a priority match for my club. JROTC in my state with their funding, facilities and daily hard work beat us every time in sporter, but, we were in the club category and stood a chance to represent our state at nationals. My kids will pr...

CMP National Council Rule Changes

I got a notice from CMP this week that the CMP will use part of the new rules in the monthly match tomorrow. It appears that there are a number of rule changes coming for the CMP National Council Rules in a few weeks. Maybe I missed it, but, I haven't seen anything on it here. The part of new rules ...

A forend riser block like we use in smallbore would really be nice for these rifles - if the rules would allow. A riser block wouldnt be that expensive or difficult to make. The shape of the Crossman stock gives it a slight advantage in this area.

Ditto jhmartin.

Also, we had to shim our scopes quite a bit to get enough elevation on the rams using 888's.

You shouldn't need the scope and stand. The targets are electronic and there are big screens for spectators. There are all kinds of restaurants within minutes.

Slightly off topic but brought up in a previous post: the way I read the new consecutive match rule was that a regular team member could not attend the next year as a team member or alternate. Alternates are still eligible to attend the next year as an alternate or team member.
