Interested to try this but not sure how to set up the position exactly without the rifle? Make a simple wooden replica rifle? Not really. Just imagine and feel how your position should be. Feel where things feel more balanced and relaxed. Feel where bone is being used and muscle tension dialed out....

I'd go with above the support hand as a guide, then tailor to suit. One problem though is most tailor their support hand's position to the weight/balance point, as that feels more natural. Instead, set the position up without the rifle, see where the support hand likes to be, then see where the bala...

The ideal is not to push the thumb either down or up. Most stocks i've seen do either, but not neither. I've also adopted thumb up in some postions to avoid triggering issues, but my discipline requires position adaptations which others may not have to deal with.

The plates without the pull adjustment plates go over £150 here in good nick. £500 seems quite steep though.

We generally ignore them, put our own marks on. Why does it matter if they agree or not? I can tell to the yd or so what something is out to 70yds, and certainly within 10 way further out... but then it's a march, not a luep, which can take time to learn to be precise with. That said, 50 & 100 m...

I'd leave it alone. Lube has a way of finding its way into the hammer and the reg if too much is applied.

at my 25yd indoor range it's low powered shots (sub 12) that cause a problem if they hit wood used on the edge of steel baffles.

Higher velocities are fine on the same surface.

Rubber and plastic can be problematic as well.

Angled steel is the only consistent solution.

...2) Remember you live in the UK, where the only people with handguns are criminals 3) Choose a different hobby How broadly is "handgun" defined? Does it include air pistols? Blackpowder? Collectible antiques? Air pistols under 6ft/lb and not using self contained cartridge systems are ok...

you should be able to order the parts directly from walther to replace the green seal. If walther usa won't deal with you then walther germany should. they won't however sell you parts for the reg internals. there are couple of people that work on them my side of the pond... the older style reg is m...

if it just makes a click on firing it can't be the reg... the hammer would still go forward and hit the plunger and you would hear a bang. My guess is if it's making a noise like the switch is set to test then it could be switch related, but you're right in saying the switch has to be moved a lot an...

cool your boots ;) if you believe the green seal on the plunger is the problem, then simply order the replacement (which could be white like they use on the higher power LG300's)... it's a 2c part. Then take cylinder off, fire off a shot to empty the reg if it doesn't purge, loosen carefully the two...

Hi I have an LG400 alutec and my wife an LG300 Junior Wooden stock. The action on the 400 is slightly different with a magnetic absorber against the XT system on the 300. Shooting wise they feel no different, the absorber is technically adjustable but its not an out side adjuster job, its a technic...

would have thought something like 4 - 4.2 would be a more optimal place to start... 3.6 is pretty tight, and may make a hold seem more loose than it actually is, as well as perhaps causing issues of the eye not being able to see enough white around the target.

There's a noticable difference between AA fields and JSB Exacts, but other brands have been found to be just the same thing rebranded. Variations have been due to die differences. JSB ran/run a dozen dies for the Exact Expresses which leads to some noticable physical differences, and performance can...

Nope. My main comp FT rig has the cylinder permanently attached to the reg. My regs don't get looked at for years unless they show any problems, and they're running to a finer tolerance than off the shelf 10m stuff. I leave my others on, purely because it reduces the chance of any contamination with...

I don't believe the Free Position does (i've had a few) They are normal 4mm hex bolts though.

The pronged carrier plate the other poster refers to is not standard.

However. You miss the point. You may very well assure me that you can control the knob and turn it off at 200b. Congratulations. But that does nothing to assure me that others do. As I tried to explain, I cannot tell if a cylinder has been overpressurised. Especially so if I do not know - or even i...

They are manufactured, to a spec. That spec includes using tubing spec'd for the purpose, which is beyond a 200 bar fill. The answer is in the small print. For some years ANSCHÜTZ has their compressed air cylinders checked and approved according to the European directive 1999/36/EG From 1999, they a...

The one thing that is so nice about externally adjusted scopes is that you are always looking through the optical center of the scope. You can come close with an internally adjusted one, that is until you change distances. You get spherical abberations and other distortion as the crosshairs get clo...
