Re: Post Suubject

For Rolf, Your description does not describe my experience. I often found a very high level of emotional intensity at the start of a match. I coped by using a mental removal from the competition by using a distraction such as watching an ant crawling on the ground or a bird or even a butterfly inte...

there's an arousal vs performance curve, which starts off with both being low, and as arousal increases, so does performance. But past a point, as arousal increases, the peformance drops off, and it's debatable if it can be got back within a match. this is often tied to emotion. Certain famous tenni...

the ten is only a result. It doesn't mean the shot was good. I was shoulder to shoulder with a shooting partner and he slipped on the trigger and put a 9.5 in with his eyes not even behind the sights. He got the giggles. I got the giggles and stuck a 4 in. When looking at consistency, you need to lo...

Yep, we use a plugin called stopforumspam for that reason. It does throw up a few false positives when people pick nicknames the spammers use, but on the hole it keeps 99.99% of them out.

Re: Standing position with FWB 2700 alu

I have big problems with my standing position. There is lots of vertical sway and I feel that my rifle too heavy. I have no extra weight. Do I need try to make rifle balance more backward? What you think? My air rifle´s balance is above the support hand and its very stable and it´s weight is about ...

its a fresnal lens. (pronounced freynal) that's done on a scale that uses diffraction of light waves rather than geometry. The effect of diffraction can be observed by looking through a very narrow slit... and the problems it creates people will know when their foresight is to tight to the black. I ...

I have found that concentrating on the aspects/process of the shot can take the mind off the outcome/result, and thus reduce stress. Stress is the negative space between your expectations and reality. It does take some time to get the brain into the gear, so some training on what your thinking about...

Well Walther thought wrapping the barrel in a carbon sleeve was of some advantage, but i'm more convinced its a cosmetic touch rather than much else. I don't see carbon sleeves on any of the other air rifles yet they still shoot high scores and win comps. If Walther felt the need to as they say, da...

Robf do you know how to identify the 6 v 12 ft-lb - is this evident in a series number or some other marking? best way as suggested is to chrono it... which I assume you must have done to find the curve. i'm not sure there are many/any differences... my s200t was a 12ft-lb gun and just was missing ...

Is a regulator kind of a hack? For the record, the accuracy has been extremely good at 80yds w/ the JSB domed pellets I've been using. And I haven't altered any of the factory settings. I don't want to increase the pre-set velocity, just to avoid that initial change in velocity. Also I don't think ...

Robf I have always found the light 'Rose/pink' front sight elements helped my sight picture in 10m air rifle, this doesn't mean to say it would suit everone. As for a coloured filter in the back sight iris, your probably right. Although these will cut down the amount of light reaching the aiming ey...

could it be that you have a problem that you are not able to detect? perhaps a quick assessment by a coach could reveal some aspects to think about and allow you to build goals that may lead to improvement. i find that mental stamina comes hand in hand with the belief that what one is working in wil...

the eyes see the biggest contrast between yellow and black, not white and black, so although yellow will cut down the light to the eye, it might offer a better contrast.

it's something to play with perhaps...

Have you considered adding weights using a holder attached under on the accessory rail?
That's not allowed if your shooting under ISSF Rules, Colin
debatable ;)

the different stocks do change the feel and balance of the walthers to quite some degree. i would try before you buy if you can. i am very happy with the feel of my anatomic over an alutec stock, however i've had to add a lot of weight... that said, when I used a 2002 in ally i could never get the w...

If you are competing, you might want to check the legality of the boots as well. ISSF is VERY STRICT on what they will allow, but NRA competitions allow a lot more flexibility on their footwear. Apart from checking the ISSF rule book (rule 7.4.6.3) you might also take note of the ISSF's February 20...
