if you have an adjustable, or a set of sizes, simply shoot groups with each, changing the size.

See which gives you the best groups.

Then perhaps look at how other factors affect that, like longer matches, wind, light conditions.

It's just a number.

The main trend in shooters is to go too small.

i tend to think match stress occurs because of the definition of stress... the difference between expectation and the reality being negative. Stress will find the weak point of your shooting. You can choose perhaps to try and defeat stress, or you can perhaps look to improve your shooting so it has ...

is trigger control the problem, or is it trying to make up for something weaker earlier in the firing cycle...? Not such a good use of time to practice trigger if the position is weak and causing a knock-on effect.

Are you thinking about the NSRA 6yd target. It might be a bit difficult to buy at a reasonable price in the US (which I presume is where the OP is from).
Ah, good point David :)

Light intensity falls off inverse square over distance... so at 1unit of distance away you need 1x of light, at 2, you need 4x of light, and at 3, you need 9x.... so if you need 75w at .4m you actually need 2000w at 2m to get the same luminosity... 2m is 5x the distance away from the target that 0....

you could probably benefit from getting some sight risers to max out the foresight and rearsight height wise... the max distance from foresight centre to barrel centre is 60mm, the rear can be anything because it's limited by the range as to the height it will be... but this will help that head posi...

500W sounds like overkill when an R80 75W reflector light at 300-400mm (adjust the set up with a light meter) will give the needed light level on an ISSF 10m target - that's what is used at most of the World Cups Light intensity falls off inverse square over distance... so at 1unit of distance away...

there is a 6yd AR target, but it's a slightly different ball game. That said, it might just be easier to play it, as it can teach a different aspect, and of course, shooting is shooting, so you will be working on the same thing. The 6yd target's rings aren't a lot different to a 10m, however, there ...

may not be an impact fracture, could be a weak point in the ally, made worse by temperature drop or vibration or pressure drop. I've seen pictures of the rifles snapping there just from normal use... only needs a small micro crack and it's off... i'm using the far deeper 1750 et all gun cases now, a...

keeping covered up stops the body being heated by direct sunlight, and stops any breeze taking away sweat.

as said before, you need to think about hydration well before the match.

http://www.rfarn.ukfsn.org/group.jpg HW97k springer, sitting position 25m indoors, 6 shots (1st for placement) when the precision of the group is low, the statistical error becomes too big to draw logical conclusions. the group doesn't need to be accurate, just precise. that said, at longer ranges,...

i'm using offset sights on an LG300 using walther sights, and they haven't run out of elevation... i can only think it's the risers, either try turning the back one or front one around, or try it without, but it looks likes the risers are twisted rather than offset laterally.
