well, if youre looking for someone to tell you which pellets to buy... well, don't. The individual gun is what makes the difference. Pellets are really cheap compared to .22 ammo so you should just about buy a tin (500) of every kind available to you (in every size as well) Now that will prolly leav...

USA rifle

I think the fast-track to the olympics (if you are younger than 19 i think it is, maybe 20-21, anyways) in the United States is to shoot in your regional JORC match. Each state has (at least)one each year and doing well enough there nets you an invitation to the Junior Olympic National Championships...

Nature AND Nurture

I've been shooting for a little over two years years now, and I'm only 16, so I suppose my opinions should be taken with a grain of salt, but I do have some pretty firm feelings on the subject. That this "world class" shooter must have both in this day and age. Shooting is just one of many...

By barrel life, do you mean still functioning? are still shooting acceptable groups? I think that pretty much any .22 barrel will function after 100,000's of rounds but i do not know when the groups begin to open up. Ive got probably 3,000 now through my Walther and it's still shooting like it did w...

well, the 6.7 is just because the equation includes the 1/2 1/2mv^2 i think is the correct equation for energy, but this still puts his rifle above the limit at about 8.6J. I think this is the main problem with the calculations, the missing 1/2. I don't know why the rifle is above the 7.5 and that c...

Stretching

Just wondering, everyone, what the advantages (and disadvantages) of stretching before shooting are. I've heard shooters take both sides and i was just wondering what the consensus is among other shooters.

Well, not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but there definately is something that happens to your feet when the pressure of weight is on them for an extended period of time. I just kinda lightly pick each of my feet up one at a time (not actually off the ground, just taking like 90 percen...

When i shot sporter, the only thing that I even ever saw happen to an 888 was the accesory rail pull out of the stock. Took no time to put some more screws in it.

Well, I think the consensus is that Kurt Thune is the best jacket and pants maker, but Thune usually costs over 1000 dollars. Monard, I think, is excellent as well as Sauer, though i only have experience with the very cheap Gehmann jacket ( i dont recommend it if you have more than 200 dollars to sp...

I wear the under armour as well as a sweatshirt under my jacket. I use the under armour for primarily two reasons. The first was mentioned before, to wick up the sweat, it cools you quite well. The second is primarily to help improve the comfort of my legs. The canvas of the shooting pants can be ki...

well, there really is no consensus about the "best" air rifle. Certainly, the anschutz name is the most widely respected and the 9003 is their top model but its all about the best rifle for you . I personally prefer my walther lg300, but its all about personal preference. I dont think you ...

Sparks, The main reason to have more weight forward of the hand than behind is to increase the inertia of the front end of the gun. I assume you undestand the benefits of having a heavier rifle but if all the weight is added to the back, it doesnt help with slowing the wobble at all. The greater wei...

well, I put the bullet into the chamber as well, but at least for my action, I cant actually push the bullet in until it seats completely. When the shell doesn't eject, the rim is sealed up to the vertical part of the chamber, i have to actually use a knife to get in behind the rim and extract it. A...

we think that the probelm may be that the trough that the bullet rides in before enterng the chamber is too shallow, that the bullet is going into the chamber at a slight downward angle. The shell is jamming in the chamber, not the extractors and with the bolt out, you can push a shell down into the...

well, my dad and i have done some experimenting and measuring and we believe we have determined a difference in the ammo that may be causing the problem. The width of the rim of the shell seems to determine whether or not it ejects. Using a caliper, we find that the Lapua Master's rim is consistentl...

well, i would say $2200 is a pretty good deal. In good condition of course. Do you know how many shots have been through it? I guess it doens't matter that much though. I've had my smallbore for a little under a year, and probably close to 5000 rounds already. But it's still in practically new condi...

KK300 Ejector problems?

Alright, I have the Walther KK300 aluminum and i've loved it so far. The only problem i've started having recently is the ejector starts to fail. I don't know why and I do not see any pattern (first shot in barrel, after getting warmed-up, nothing like that) but I do know that it seems to vary with ...
