Re: Help with SCATT Mx-W2

If you already tried multiple lights then that's maybe not the problem. Before buying anything I'd try it during the day in a naturally lit room. It it still doesn't work then It's probably not a light issue.

Re: Morini 200EI doesn't want to work anymore

I'd check if the two indicated contacts are connected with a continuity tester on a multimeter. They should be. If they are not the problem is inside the trigger mechanism/contact. Otherwise I'd check the corresponding pins in the connector, cable etc. If it is in the trigger as an experiment I'd in...

Re: Morini 200EI doesn't want to work anymore

By this point I'd almost bet there is some issue with the trigger contact. There is something in there that prevents it from closing or the connector on the pistol side is bad. The trigger contact is closed by default and is opened when pressing the trigger. If it isn't closed during startup you get...

Re: Help with SCATT Mx-W2

Try some other lamps. Or during the day just to rule that lamp out. I have seen it have issues with specific (often LED) lamps due to strobing that is not visible to the eye.

Re: CO2 to O2 conversion

Isn't the whole point of CO2 that it's partially liquid in the tank and the actual pressure of the remaining gas is fairly constant? And it therefore requiring an entirely different (simpler) reduction valve system?

Re: How do you stop beginners from obsessing over the sub 6 hold?

I usually start them on blank targets and have them do so at the beginning of each training session. But you can't exactly do the "you must meditate in the monastery for a year"-thing if you want them to also stay interested.

How do you stop beginners from obsessing over the sub 6 hold?

I occasionally teach courses and introduce beginners at my club and this is the single most common "hangup" almost every new shooter seems to have. There is the part where they are convinced a center hold would be so much easier and are trying to get "permission" to do so. Then t...

Re: MORINI MELTDOWN=Don't buy 200EI for ANY Reason.

Electronic triggers also have extra spring weight in the system. The sub micro switch has an internal spring on the switch lever, it has an operating force and a release reset force. The neither the CM200 nor the EVO10e have a microswitch (neither does the CM84 free pistol). They have a gold contac...

Re: Morini 200EI doesn't want to work anymore

OK. I believe that a balance between stage 1 and 2 is important to keep the electronics happy. I added extra weight to stage 1 and backed off weight on stage 2. That is true for any gun in my experience and even more so for mechanical ones. I found I could get the second stage on both my CM200 and ...

Re: MORINI MELTDOWN=Don't buy 200EI for ANY Reason.

I get the frustration. But If I had that kind of reaction to a gun failing and started recommending against them I would be running out of brands to buy from by now. I had competition sinking failures with Morini (both cylinders failing to hold pressure at the same time after a break), Steyr (random...

Re: Morini 200EI doesn't want to work anymore

You'd hope Morini made an appropriate choice there since disconnecting them is a requirement to removing/swapping/adjusting the grip. If you could only safely do this 8-10 times that would be a major flaw.

Anecdotally I certainly toke mine apart a lot more and haven't had any issues.

Re: Morini 200EI doesn't want to work anymore

But... but... you have to do like half of these things just to get the grip off anyway? As in you should disconnect the top cable from the board which is best accomplished by removing the board. Otherwise you risk pulling the cable off in an "unsafe" way when removing the grip.

Re: Morini 200EI doesn't want to work anymore

Have you actually taken it apart fully? The "mail the grip" comment makes me wonder. Why not just the board? The blinking a lot and not working also happens if you turn it on while holding the trigger. I had this kind of issue when updating to the new bluetooth board. So what I would do is...

Re: Morini 200EI doesn't want to work anymore

You had to change battery after a month? I train up to 5 days a week and swap it about once a year.

Anyway, I'd disconnect and reconnect all the ribbon cables. potentially multiple times. The fresh boards sometimes have this protection lacquer interfering with the connections.

I have seen the camo thing enforced. The jeans on the other hand are often explicitly allowed. As in the rules for the specific event will say "clothing rules according to ISSF. Jeans permitted."

The "capture" happens via an o-ring around the screw. So just push it out from the top.

Re: CM200ei or p85

The LP50 has a two stage trigger. You just can't adjust the stages individually. Also it is slightly "rolling". Incidentally I recently had the chance to hold a P85. It does appear to have a much crisper trigger. So I'm tempted.

Re: 25m RFP Proposed changes

If someone gained a significant advantage in qualification I don't see how it's wrong that they benefit from that. This idea that we need to make shooting more "interesting" by having more volatile finals irritates me to no end. It's a sport about consistency and endurance... but the momen...

Re: Shooting Range Setup - Basement

Don't forget to add a lot of "ambient" lighting. Shooting ranges are way brighter than any normal home/basement. Just pointing a light at the target won't do because your eye still adapts to the overall room and the sight picture will be wildly different to what you see on a range.

Re: Morini cm200ei

Yes, you can change the grip easily. Since the internal boards are connected with cables it doesn't need a left hand pcb or so. Regarding the blinking issue. This can happen if the trigger is "closed" while switching on. So make sure the trigger (blade) isn't somehow stuck or oddly adjuste...
