Re: Aging and Score Decline

Well the Germans have an over 50 supported option, so on average I would say yes age affects score. https://www.formgriffe.de/en/Standard-grips/Supported-shooting Personally I've found that my hold doesn't last as long, and that 50 seconds per shot is too short to fully recover during a 60 shot matc...

Re: Preventive maintenance for shoulder?

Don't follow my lead..., broke the shoulder skiing in December. Working on getting the strength back, I did shoot my first target of the year today, only able to hold for 3 shots before wobble became silly. Perhaps by May I'll be able to shoot a 40 or 60 shot match. 3 months of only being able to pu...

Re: That golden moment …

My best air pistol: 10.8 10.8 10.5 10.1
got excited about the score, and shot process went out the window:
7.5

This is why the new issf rules suck. Instead of average of the shots scoring, it might as well be based on dice throws.

Re: ISSF and ex-ISSF matches in US PNW

Salt Lake Utah is the only thing I've found online in the pacific northwest that's active, someone please prove me wrong... https://www.upms.org/scores/viewMatchResults2.php My personal favorite is the local indoor range that advertises a non-existent youth air pistol league with a cost to rent a ma...

All the good work on building up the arm, destroyed on the ski slope. Be back in a few months after the shoulder heals.

The only thing that is keeping me from making up my mind on the P8X is, if the gun is so mind-bendingly awesome... why don't I ever see it in the finals of ISSF events? Why don't more elite shooters use them?
LAMOLLE, Mathilde FRA silver in the last ISSF event, using a P8x.

Rover,

Since your in the Pacific Northwest, any knowledge of ranges / matches in the area would be helpful.

University of Utah seems to hold matches: https://www.upms.org/schedule.php

Re: Trigger position

Full back, and angled to the inside of the hand matching the curve of my finger at the first joint. I learned on a single action with lots of slack, wanting both to use the same portion of the finger. Finger pad on trigger doesn't seem as precise, especially with a centerfire trigger weight. Actuall...

Always wear a mask to indoor gun ranges, keeps the gunpowder and lead out of your throat. Also is a good way to make new friends in the US.

Re: Where were the jury folks?

"10m Air Pistol Grips: No part of the grip, frame or accessories may touch any part of the wrist" They used to ask you to shake the pistol to see if it could touch. Now the competitors are gluing wood onto the back of the grip to lock the pistol into the wrist touching the ulna (lower arm ...
