Simple rule I follow for my High Standards (when I follow any rules, that happens sometimes):
I have an ECI that is sized very well for: if it fits tight - time to brush the chamber
When I have an itch to clean (less and less, at most once per season) - clean completely

A combination of hard (tin) pellets with oversized skirts and worn seals could be the problem. The pistol may only have enough force to get the tin pellets started in the bore. All signs seem to point to pistol seal (#5). Happened to me when I used apparently wrong airtool oil. Secondary suspect - valve seat. An update. Looks like another thing that keeps the breech up is air pressure. Replacing valve seal fixed the problem for me.

Did anybody have recent experiences with Air Venturi AV-46M? I believe I saw some negative reports about early versions, hopefully it improved, but I did not see anything more recent. How does it compare with Izzy, the same, or some degrade of quality?

Yep, #17 was my suspect, as it has signs of wear. As the breech is able to stay up when the gun is pumped, I tried to extend valve spring, but it did not change anything. I do not have problems with manually raising breech after cocking, but once in a while on the way up (pressing on the valve?) it ...

Does anybody know, what part/parts are responsible for keeping the breech block up after cocking?
Mine just does not want to stay up, requires raising after cocking. Started from not staying sometimes, gradually went to always dropping.
