Re: USA stores

Neal Stepp / ISS has been excellent in the past with service and prices. He is old school, so call rather than email:

Seems like a primo opportunity for a competing product with a good trigger. FWB P85 anyone?

I'm no Olympian (nor do I play one on TV), but I've found the hold and trigger training (dry fire, etc) to improve in target AP, .22, .45 has translated to improved rifle trigger and hold.

Also see if your college has a shooting team or club. If not maybe try to find other students interested in shooting and start a club!

Re: Back after a long time with more sad news

+++ to Gwhite's advice, as always. With AP, RF, CF, I do better getting shots off sooner - right after settling on aiming area. Taking up most of the trigger while dropping into the aiming area helps this. More generally also agree it is not about your score, but about your shot process. Each one, e...

Re: Am I too old?

The OP's question seems different than the one being answered. ie is there a big advantage to starting young if the goal is to be extremely competitive at some later time. There are many examples of older champions, but most (all?) started training / competing at a young age. Anecdotally you see thi...

"When load testing I typically use some NRA 10 meter air pistol targets because the black is very small. This target because I believe in the "aim small shoot small" principle." Here too. If the goal is harder I seem to do better. I even shoot 10m targets with .45/1911 (at 50') h...

"i used to use the middle "correct" position, but i found out recently that using the right "old style" position works better for me." Same here. My Hammerli 208s has a red dot and that "old"position helps (me) stabilize the dot during dry fire. It is also sim...

Re: AP groups at 25 yards

Very unscientifically, when I've shot my LP 50 at 25 metres my groups have been about as good as when with my MG2. Essentially, it's does not seem to be the pistol/pellets holding me back. Same here / different pistols: My 25Y groups with air (FWB P44 / iron sights) are similar to those shot with 2...

Agree with David - not too tight. Also the aluminum threads can gall, so I like to lube the threads (only) with a thin film of silicone grease

Re: Buyer Beware! Help needed!

Probably a dumb question but wouldn't using Paypal "goods and services" payment protect against this kind of fraud? ie, recourse if the buyer does not receive the item. They add 3.5% to the transaction cost but given the prevalence of scammers it seems worth it. Relatedly (on another site)...

Re: My Feinwerkbau P44+R10 Match+R10Match Plus

I've had my P44 for a few years and agree with its greatness. Excellent (mechanical) trigger, great adjustable sights, more accurate than me on all occasions and perfectly reliable. For me addition of barrel weight was helpful in reducing arc of movement, along with normal grip work (including some ...

Over time I've learned to "buy once / cry once". Given how difficult precision pistol is, learning is much easier knowing the errors are not equipment related ;)

Re: Air Pistol selection

LP50 is 5 shot air pistol. Unlike a semi-auto pistol which uses recoil energy to cycle the slide, the LP trigger has to reset the firing mechanism each shot, which would explain felt trigger differences.

1. Pellet trap: Both the 10M and 20M ranges have traps designed to muffle noise. They are wood-framed rectangles with thick sheet metal backing, lined with putty "duct seal" material that is 1-2" thick. These traps are very quiet, and I'm convinced the sound scaring Bonnie is the AP r...
