Re: Morini 200 barrel weights.

Weight is a compromise. More means greater inertia = smaller wobble. More also means more fatigue = greater wobble. This compromise is something you must work out for yourself over time. Initially, it’s probably best to not fit them. Train for endurance and steadiness and when you’re in the mid-500s...

Re: Hammerli 104 free pistol sighting-in problem

They were built for area aiming sub-6. If you are trying to centre aim then you might run out of adjustment.

Morini Air Cylinder Gauge

I have a Morini CM00EI with 2 cylinders. One of them has an electronic pressure gauge and the other is analogue. The analogue gauge includes has what appears to be a Perspex cover. This cover has three cracks. I have never dropped or otherwise damaged the cylinder but I do live in the tropics where ...

Re: .22 Ammo For Free Pistols That Won't Stick in Chamber?

I use SK Pistol Match. Straight out of the box, I find that I get a build up of grease/wax in the chamber that tends to make both seating and extracting difficult and annoying. So, before a match or practice session, I tip my rounds into a rag and roll them around to clean most of the wax off. Doing...

Re: Sight Image

I have found that trying to have a precise aim point is, counter-intuitively, counter- productive. Instead, I think about area aiming. Just be in an area the size of the 9-ring below the black. If you trigger properly within that area, and you have a proper sight picture then you’ll get at least a n...

Re: Safety Flag

For ISSF 6.2.2.2 Safety flags constructed of fluorescent orange or a similar bright material must be inserted in all rifles, pistols and semi-automatic shotguns at all times except when safety flag removal is authorized by these rules. To demonstrate that air guns are unloaded, safety flags (safety ...

Re: Training

Also yes and yes. I did 10 sessions spaced at fortnightly intervals. Very worthwhile. Dina is an excellent coach and a very nice person as well. My shooting has improved a great deal and I now have a good training programme and many competition tools. I am currently in a period of self-guided consol...

Re: Accurize Laser Trainer For 10m AP?

G’Day. I recently tried one and had some problems; 1. The laser unit has a spear rod with small o-rings to hold in the barrel. The spear is about 3cm long. It is clearly designed for barrels where the crown is accessible. For my AP, the compensator is so long that the spear doesn’t seat in the barre...

Re: New Grip Treatment

Thanks everyone for your advice.
I think I’ll try the danish oil.
Regulations require me to store the pistol at my club armoury for another 5 weeks. After that I’ll give it a go and let you know how I went.

New Grip Treatment

I have recently taken possession of a brand new Morini Free Pistol (CM84E).
The wooden grip is not treated or coated in any way.
Should I oil it? Boiled linseed oil?
Or is there another treatment?
Or should I leave it raw?

Thanks.
Advice appreciated.
