Re: Hammerli AP20 Pro Silver vs Blue body, Silver vs Black Cylendar

The fill adapter works well. I hated having to unscrew the original under pressure. Don't know why they don't include this type from the factory

Re: Scoring Limits of a Cheap Gun

Regarding the PP20, I was at IWA in Germany the other week and on the Snow Peak stand they had the pre production PP30. It's essentially the same, but with an improved trigger. Trying them both there was a noticeable difference between them. As mentioned, it's a bit of a gamble with spares but felt ...

I'm also in the UK, and even though I have a stash of R10's I find no difference between them and the super cheap H&N Econ for under £4 a tin!

Re: air compressor recommendations

I've had an Umarex Ready Air for a few weeks now and it seems well built and reliable. Spares are included for a rebuild after 20 hours use

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing

That's some great shooting at 100 yards. I'd be happy with that at 50!
I'd love to get into this if I had the facilities.
It's the same over here in the UK. People just don't want to get up off the bench to shoot.

If you're referring to the Hawke Vantage then the one I have in 20mm is plenty bright enough outside in the sun

Re: PP700

They're not very nice to shoot single handed and the open sights aren't great. If they made a decent grip and put some proper adjustable sights on it would be ok for informal target use

Re: AP20 pro vs. LP500

I'm not overly keen on having the cocking lever sticking up in the air in dry fire mode, but I'm guessing that's the case with the Walthers too? As mentioned, there's little to no difference in terms of capability as it's all down to the shooter with equipment at this level Its design doesn't inter...

Sorry, I was referring to the AP20

Re: "Budget" AP choice for beginner

Can't speak for the other models but I've had faultless performance from my AP20 for about 5 years now. I'd definitely spend the extra to get the 'pro' version as the grip is so much better

Re: New glasses

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you're saying about the offset but my thinking was when double handed shooting with a squarer stance, I'd be looking more or less straight ahead. From what you've described, there wouldn't be any benefit in having larger lenses to cater for both stances as the...

New glasses

Had an eye test today and as I suspected, I need a new prescription for both reading and distance. For the first time I was brave enough to mention my requirements for shooting (I'm in the UK and this isn't something I discuss freely). To my relief the optician actually appeared to be interested, an...

Blimey, all this maths is hurting my head. If I didn't have an adjustable rear notch I'd be inclined to just file a bit and keep looking through the sights till it seemed about right

The Compact has a dry fire function so I'm assuming the V10 has too?
