The simple answer is yes. A stiff canvas jacket is essential and so are shooting boots. Shooting pants can come later.

All you do is unscrew the rear aperture disc that has the peep hole in it from your back sight housing block and screw on an adjustable peep sight. which is more commonly known as an iris. Check the Gehmann web site where all the adjustable irises are shown. There are many that have coloured filters...

Hi The rails [Dovetails] vary in size from one make to another so you need to specify which make of rifle you need the part to fit. However, all the manufacturers keep the same rail size for their air rifles and small bore rifles. Some newer back sights will fit most makes of rifle. You can fit a va...

The FWB 300-S is lube sensitive, meaning that you need different lubes for different areas on the gun. Cocking lever hinges need a good quality gun oil and the sliding 'sledge' bearings require a low viscosity grease such as a moly grease or PTFE based synthetic grease. The piston basically runs dry...

I know this is off topic, but my old Air Sporter had the leather piston washer and was way above the 12 Ft Lb limit and yes it kicked like a mule. One old trick was to open the breech tap, put a pellet in and then a tiny drop of model air plane diesel fuel which is ether based in the hollow of the p...

Just to keep the girls on my side, i have great admiration for the female shooters because they can compete on equal terms with the guys and often beat us. My hero is Sonja Pfeilschifter who is a lefty like me and also like me is a wee bit older than a teen. I only shoot 10m Air Rifle now because it...

Wonderful, you must be nice to the female shooters, i tried and they still out shoot me. I have 40 years experience of shooting and along comes a 15 year old girl and wipes me out. Its my fault though because i coached her as a newbie. She named her gun Bee because she says it stings the opposition....

A regular 'O' ring from say an auto shop may not be tough enough. The FWB 'O' ring is made of a neoprene/nylon type material. Get the genuine part from Beeman. For information on shooting, you won't do any better than the MEC publications 'Ways Of The Rifle' and 'Air Rifle Shooting'. They both cover...

You are quite within your rights to ask the range officer to wipe the floor where you stand with a damp cloth. This should dry out within a few minutes and should remove any dust particles. There is one way to stop your boots sliding around on the floor, put several tiny blobs of Blu Tack on the sol...

If it just has coloured filters its OK, but if there are any optical lenses that magnify or aid poor eye sight then it is illegal under the ISSF rules. All corrective optical lenses must be worn by the shooter and are not allowed on the rifle's sights. Perhaps some body could high light the rule fro...

It was a few years ago now when a rumour spread that the ISSF were looking at shooting pants and whether they should be allowed in the standing position. I emphasise that it was a rumour. More recently the ISSF from what i was told are concerned that there is a health and safety issue [back problems...

If your hold is unsteady meaning that the black aiming mark [bull] is bouncing off the inside edge of the fore sight ring then its too small. If your hold is really steady and there is no bouncing, reduce the size. There is a point however, where the band of white round the aiming mark can be too sm...
