Re: WTB: Ways of the Rifle
Th.,
That link shows the original Ways of the Rifle. It is good but the 2009 version is much improved. The new Rifle Training appears to only contain air rifle info. I think this calls for a second printing of Ways of the Rifle 2009.

Reading that actual regulation it appears that you are correct and I was wrong.

Re: For Sale-all of our daughter’s equipment & guns
In reading the link and additional links attached to that, it mentions that you must “ship” to an FFL. I am going to contact my friendly neighborhood BATf MAN and find out which way this is now being interpreted regarding face to face transactions.

Re: For Sale-all of our daughter’s equipment & guns
Federal law requires transfer using an FFL for intestate deal.

Better check the laws in your state and buyer should do the same.
I would think it difficult to sell the listed equipment to the normal club as budgets are tight. Hopefully you will find the exception. If not you might be able to help a lot of individuals get gear they need.

IMO that is a good opinion.

Re: Question for the Coaches
dude, the OP wrote “as long as his arm.” I think he already found a coach. If he had not, your comment would have been appropriate and correct. In shooting sports a coach’s gender is not indicative of their abilities.

Re: Question for the Coaches
In my opinion the number 1 thing that makes someone coachable is that person recognizing that they want or need to work with a coach. The student is much more likely to be receptive and adaptive which, as mentioned by the previous posters, is key. Since you have that box checked make sure to enjoy t...

Re: What would happen to air rifle without special clothes?
Athletes and manufacturers can only push ISSF rules so far and they will test the limits. This arms and clothing race is perpetuated in Europe and Asia. We don’t make anything here. In my opinion you would lose a great many more people if we started going backwards and our community is small enough ...

There’s always frisbee golf. I remember Gramps always complaining about the invention of the self-contained cartridge.

Re: Ways of the Rifle, out of circulation, "Rifle Training"
The new “Rifle Training” appears to be related more toward air rifle. Not sure how that could be a worthwhile replacement for Smallbore competitors.

It wouldn’t be so bad if that wasn’t the EXACT spot to be used for the Olympic Breakdancing debut.

Re: Do athletes solely train for one event or do they participate in multiple events?
Almost all overlap occurs within rifle between platforms such as Smallbore and Air. I would imagine it is the same with pistol as in Air, Centerfire and Smallbore. Shotgun sports as well will have competitors shooting various disciplines i.e. Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays. My Smallbore coach in hi...

Re: Silver
My decision to drag my butt out of bed this morning at 0300 to watch the W3x20 50m Final was worth it. Sgt. Maddalena toyed with our emotions by starting at the top of the leaderboard, dropping to fifth and then roaring back to take Silver! The watch party was quite riotous until it woke The Wife an...

Re: Ways of the Rifle, out of circulation, "Rifle Training"
Zach, I have been recommending Ways of the Rifle 2009 to other Smallbore shooters including my Junior team members. One of our adult Prone shooters recently bought a used one in excellent condition online and it was north of a hundred dollars but I forget how much. I just looked and saw one on Amazo...

Re: Cheating at ISSF Olympic Qualification Championship 2024
Golfshot, I read the rule on electronic devices you provided and it reads “may not be used by athletes on the firing line.” It does not say ‘may not be worn.”
