Morini 162ei cocking problem.

I've just encountered a problem when cocking the Morini 162ei. Every now and then (about 1 time out of 3) I've carried out the exact same proceedure when loading. Lift the lever fully up, load the pellet and return the lever down - only to find it 'dry fires'. I have to re-cock to be able to take th...

That's more like the Steve Swartz I've come to read. Thank you - and for all the other posts too. Fred's change is probably a good example which covers a general point in all the ideas/points written above. I guess in the end it involves going and trying different hold patterns first to see what fee...

Bill said: I realize I have gone beyond the limit of your question so I'll stop now. Not at all. Thanks Bill and Spencer. This forum is a wonderful form of help. Being naive and ignorant of what takes place in a particular shooting discipline can hold back the willingness to ask the question in the ...

sight alighnment - standard and 50m pistol

Because I've only really followed information on this forum regarding AP, I've never taken must notice of whether the sub six hold is the preferred (or recommended) one for 25m and 50m pistol events. If one uses sub six for AP, is it correct to presume that when moving to the 25m and 50m disciplines...

Thank you Steve. I'm off to try this later and if indeed I need more explicit instructions (I'm below average when it comes to technical things like this) I'll email as suggested.

Thanks David. For a quick resolve - you are right. But I like the 5mm front sight - and the fairly large gap each side for my alignment - so I'll have to find a solution for this. Help for anyone in the know would be very much apreciated otherwise I really can't use this pistol in competition in fea...

Morini 162ei rear sight

I've run out of adjustment moving my rear sight to the right on my Morini 162ei. I've ben modifying the grip and having to adjust the sights after each modification. (making the grip a lot smaller) How do I get this adjustment back - or get the rear sight to be centred eyt still adjustable?

Thanks all. Some logical and some thought provoking answers. I guess a lot of these regulations are scores of years old and as tecnology has improved (such as the progresion from the IZH to lighter CA pistols) some of them don't make as much sense as when they were first released.

David. I echo your comments completely. I'd be surpised if many would disagree. The photo's really proven how badly the rule is being broken. In fact, it makes a complete mockery of the rule. (of the sport???) As a television sports broadcaster, given I was commentating this event live at the 2008 O...

Thanks Rob, that sort of makes sense. This is obviously not a popular (or particulary important) subject - but it puzzles my enquiring nature. AP manufacturers suppply their pistols with extra weights - which amount to not much more than 40gm - 60gm. Given that they are 'in the know', this must be w...

Air Pistol - 1500gm weight rule

Does anyone know the significance of this rule. Air pistols must conform to certain measurments, must have a trigger weight of 500gms or over and must not weigh more than 1.5kg. I read on this forum a lot of posts about the preference for a lighter pistol - the mornini short being the first one to m...

Just pondering. So if it was the Olympics and just before the start of qualifying all competitors were told the rule was to be enforced 'stringently' - I wonder what sort of psychological effect it would have on the competitors. Having trained and competed for the last 4 years like that - I'd expect...

- Concentrate on front sight focus - Concentrate on maintaining perfect alignment - Concentrate on absolutely smooth, rapid, conssitent trigger release that does not in any way disturb the front sight/rear sight alignment Steve. I see you have introduced the word 'rapid' in relation to the trigger ...

Thanks all. I'm still trying without mixed success. Larrys comments on what to turn off were correct. I'm only getting two and at most three shots on the one target and then it changes to a new target. After emailing Rika they gave me a cell phone number for a Mr Strittl in Romania. He was helpful a...
