Proper grips make a difference
I have the S&W Mod 41, .22 cal., 7" barrel. The standard grips are terrible. I tried every US made grip available. Finally I was able to get a pair of Rink grips for my Mod. 41. The difference was amazing. This pistol is VERY accurate. The grip is very secure. I have an FWB Mod 93 and there...

Adjusting the Trigger on the Steyr LP-2
I wanted to reduce the pressure it took to cause the pistol to fire. It the USA they call it "reducing the trigger pull or trigger weight" . I alwaays thought that a trigger had one or two stages. In a two stage trigger, the first stage travel moved and then the trigger "rested" ...

Loading the Steyr LP-10
Thanks for the info. I know the LP-10 is better than the LP-2, but how much better is the real question. The LP-2 is a dream to load. I can't see myself fumbling to load the LP-10. I suppose I should ask if anybody has seen any significant or worthwhile differences between the LP-2 and the LP-10 ? T...

Loading the Steyr LP-10
I presently have a Steyr LP-2. I am considering an LP-10 because of the recoil absorber. The LP-2 is superbly accurate and I shoot it better than my FWB P-34 which also has an absorber. Both the LP-2, Morini and the P-34 have the same ease of loading. All you do is place a pellet on the ramp and clo...

Compact vs. Standard barrel length
I recently aquired the Steyr LP-2 compact. I had experience with LP-50 rapid fire full length pistol and thought that maybe my poor pistol shooting may be possibly attributable in small part to the longer barrel. Poor follow through induces barrel whip and although it may be imperceptible to the sho...

I heard that a Les Baer pistol has never won Camp Perry. I heard this but didn't believe it. Does anyone have a list , going back ten years, of the pistols used to win Camp Perry (.45's only) ?

After my last posting, it seems that most of the responses do not stick to the facts. Facts are a nuisance,I'll admit, they get in the way of fantasy. I suppose the best way to settle this would be to conduct a blind scientific study ( if that were possible). Have Brian Zins shoot an MCP followed by...

Barrel length for Target shooting
Although many will disagree with me, I think the longer the barrel the better (or lets say a more accurate pistol) . I have wrestled with this dilemma for decades. I have a mod. 41 with both a 5-1/2" Bull and the 7" barrel. Although the 5-1/2 barrel gives me a better "feel" and b...

But... why buy an MCP??? Buy something reputable like a Les Baer which they guarantee 1 1/2" on their guns and if you have any problem, they will replace it for FREE... forever!!! Would the guys at MCP do this for you??? The amount of negativity against MCP seems to be not based on any facts. I...

I am fortunate, by chance, to live close to Dr. Nick. From the outset I will categorically state that I have no affiliation with his business. I have visited him on several occassions and one of those visits also included meeting and talking to Brian Zins. Now, let me be frank. Dr. Nick, who holds t...

cascade system
I think BrianM said it better than I did. Yes, it is an expensive alternative, but I was able to pick up my second tank cheap. The real issue is that you really need to refill your 80 cubic foot tank every time when it is only 15-20% depleted since the internal pressure drops dramatically. There is ...

replacing Morini grips
Personally, I wouln't bother replacing the Morini Grips, They are about as good as you can get. I am sure that if Steyr thought Rink was better they would be using them on their LP10. Morini 162EI RINK grip Has anyone replaced a Morini grip with a Rink for above air pistol. If so, was it an improvem...

Scuba Tank Cascade system
I have the 80 cubic foot scuba tank. When filled to 3000 psi , it may seem like a lot. Two hundred BAR ( 3000 psi) is what most of the air guns use. The refill level is about 100 Bar (1500 psi). Repeated cylinder re-fills from the tank drop the cylinder output quickly. I noticed that after a few doz...

Making targets
I forgot to mention in my last post about making four new targets from the original tag paper target, than you of course stamp the new bulls-eye on the blank side of the target.

Save money on Targets
Those inexpensive 10 meter targets are terrible when it comes to scoring, since many times the paper tears. The more expensive "tag" paper targets are much better because the pellet punches a clean hole making scoring much easier. But you can go through an lot of targets. For those shooter...

Pellets going through same hole.
Many years ago, a Camp Perry winner ( who practiced regularly with an air gun) told me that the air gun competition was so stiff that there was a lot of cheating going on. They used to shoot a clover leaf at ten meters and then the rest of the shots went over the top of the target !!!!!! To stop thi...

Problems with FWB Absorber
I have a P34. When I first got the air pistol I heard a distinct but quiet "thunk" as the gun was moved down from the horizontal position ( firing) to the downward vertical position (when ready to load another pellet). I assumed that this was the "absorber" moving in its tube to ...

Comparison of Air pistols
I have had a FWB P34 for about 8 years now. I used to have a FWB 65 spring action air pistol which I replaced with a Pardini K2. The Pardini K2 was by far the best pistol I have owned but it was plagued with inconsistent velocity problems, so much so, in fact that the audible difference in the time ...
