Re: Air pistol backstop: ballistic nylon, or kevlar, or ?
Rover: After 40K shots of say .177 8.44gr pellets you could open a leadmine :-) There would be something like 48 pounds of lead in that cardbord box :-)
If you have 48 pounds of lead maybe you could make a lead back stop?

Re: Steyr EVO 10
As per Steyr FAQ: LP2 and LP50 are set to shoot 150ms. LP10 is set to shoot 155.
Other than the "c" stamped into your airgun noone will ever know the difference.
Happy shooting

Re: Who has handled the Hamerli AP20 Pro.
I have 3 air pistols: HW70 springer Gamo SSP Steyr LP50 All 3 are good but I shoot the best with the Steyr. A better air pistol will solve some problems - at least up to a point. It is difficult to say if you would shoot any better with a Steyr than with an AP20 Pro - and if you do is it because the...

Re: Who has handled the Hamerli AP20 Pro.
"The urge to upgrade" is a very real problem :) What we need and what we want may not be the same. If there is a chance that you will think that you will shoot just a little better with a Steyr - then a Steyr it is. If you dont buy the Steyr now you may buy the AP20 Pro now only to buy a S...

Spring, CO2 or air? Air for me. Less problems.

Did you drop the gun? Was it allways like that? Have you done any Work on the gun lately?

Re: LP 10 compact (short) cylinder
I did a test on my LP50 and I got 115 - 120 shots per fill - right in line with Steyr Sports web page :-)

Re: Pellet Testing... AGAIN!
That is what I will do. I will sit back and wait for all the Kool-Ade-drinkers to dump their LP10s on the marked. And I will pick up a "like new" one for cheap. I dont think an EVO10 is going to make me a better shot :-) When I get to the point where I can put all the pellets in the 10 rin...

Re: Steyr LP 10 Velocity
As per the FAQ on Steyr-sport page you want your LP10 to run 510 fps/155mps. That is around 120 shots pr. cylinder. If you get fewer you may be running to hot and vice versa.
Steyr is said to test with RWS R10 pellets

Re: Wasted effort pellet test
Once in a while you hear from someone who claims to have gone from terrible result to stellar result – all because he has started sorting, washing and lubing the pellets. Others will claim that without sorting, washing and lubing pellets will be all over the place. On the other hand my Steyr dealer ...

Re: Are there different models of the Standard Steyr LP10?
The key to my post was "according to marketing" and "in the real world". I was joking. In the real world I am shooting my 30 year old HW70 with a smile on my face. Same thing goes for my Gamo SSP :-) But I am willing to bet that no one will pay full price for a LP10 now that the ...

SSP you say? Are you mad? According to marketing SSP is so out of date that pellets are leaving the barrel sideways.

Re: Are there different models of the Standard Steyr LP10?
Kevin the world is not real - it is marketing.
As long as Steyr is making silent upgrades the LP10 is fine. When Steyr makes a new model - the EVO10 - then the LP10 is no longer any good.
Had the world been real even a LP1 would be fine :-)
Happy shooting :-)

Re: Are there different models of the Standard Steyr LP10?
LP10 is dead - long live the EVO10.
That is the difference between a silent upgrade and a new model - alive vs. dead :-)

Re: Steyr LP-Silhouette
LP-S must be a rare bird. No one seems to have one.
Thanks Wasatch: I may just end up converting my LP50 to red-dot/scope use and then get an LP10 Evo or whatever for open sight shooting.
What do others use for silhouette shooting?
