Re: Beretta 690
Five years down the track now with my Beretta 690; never a single problem with it. I see they're no longer in production so I'm delighted I still have mine. My father owned a s680 trap gun that he used for duck and pheasant shooting until I started using it for Olympic Trap. I must admit, my favouri...

Re: Walther GSP 500
I was offered a new Pardini or SSP for $AUD 3,000 by an Australian dealer back in October 2020, so I purchased the SSP.

Re: Walther GSP 500
Has anyone discovered any teething problems with this pistol? Also, what's the muzzle-jump like?

Re: Walther GSP 500
A good point Rover, but do massive German companies like Walther need to give away product in order to increase sales a wee bit more? I don't believe so; they're going to sell thousands of guns from their arms portfolio regardless. When the SSP didn't appear that often in competition finals, Walther...

Re: Walther GSP 500
It will be interesting to see whether top notch ISSF shooters will embrace it in preference to the holy grail gun (Pardini).

Re: Finally bit the bullet (LP500)
I bought the very last LP400 from the Australian distributor back in the middle of 2019 and probably the last SSP a little later as well. Electronic triggers offer no temptations for me so it's unlikely that I'll be missing-out on much with the new Walthers.

Re: Finally bit the bullet (LP500)
Isn't the LP500 mechanical trigger configuration exactly the same as the LP400?

Re: Pardini & Rapidfire
"My Pardini had a better track record regarding malfunctions than my Walther SSP or SSPE. Only marginally but I had more confidence using the Pardini." (Deadeyedick) With regard to all the ISSF TV RF finals, it would be a rare event not to see a Pardini malfunction. Granted, each final is ...

Re: Pardini & Rapidfire
Reliable? The Pardini often malfunctions more so than, perhaps, a Walther SSP.

Re: Walther SSP grip size
Mine's 90 mm as well, and the medium grip on my SSP is perfect. Pistol assembly/ disassembly is a wee bit more arduous than many other pistols, but it's extremely reliable and well made.

New Pardini FPM
So, how do you remove the bolt assembly (Part F011) in order to get a clear run for cleaning the barrel? Removing the pin (Part F014), then pushing the assembly forward is easy enough, but the unit refuses to come up through the two vertical side cavities. What have I missed?

Re: Is it just me or is this forum slowly dying ?
ISSF Pistol around the world will never die, particularly as more clubs find ways and financial support in order to introduce electronic scoring. ISSF pistol shooters; men and women, will always remain an elite with respect to all hand gun disciplines. Absolutely nothing will ever alter that obvious...

Re: Toilet paper or pistol ammunition?
I think a lot of people are genuinely concerned that there will be a prolonged shortage of new firearms and ammunition; just as many are stripping supermarket shelves and hoarding food in the belief that there won't be enough for everyone. Meanwhile, I'd be surprised to learn that the average target...

Toilet paper or pistol ammunition?
So, is pistol ammunition (including .177 pellets) flying-off the shelves around the world at the moment?

Re: Review of Walther LP500 Expert
Chip, thanks for the review.
Presumably, you've not compared the LP500 with the earlier 400? Apart from an ability to add an electronic trigger, the mechanical version must be pretty much the same as the LP400?

Re: Walther LP500; any good?
Many thanks for the trigger-setting advice David. Meanwhile, I just purchased a LP400 Alu; so no LP500 for me. Only wanted a mechanical trigger and I'm not convinced that the LP500 offers anything substantial over the LP400.

Re: Walther LP500; any good?
I liked the trigger on my old LP400, but after around 200 shots, the trigger weight would always need adjusting as it invariably became too light (and illegal). Frustratingly, it seemed that no amount of readjustment would stop the trigger from eventually becoming too light. Perhaps this is normal a...

Any feed-back on the mechanical trigger version? Is the LP500 mechanism the same as the LP400; does anyone know?
