Greg, I can only speak for the 2003/2004 Nationals... but the past two years FP finals have been held around in the noon-2p window, with awards given out within 15 minutes of finals completing. For 2005, it appears pistol isn't competing for 50m range time with rifle so scheduling should be more pre...

Article: How To Fix Olympic Shooting In The U.S.
Found this article recently. It was written by Lones Wigger, apparently in April of 1997. Amazing what has, and hasn't changed in the last 7 years. Maybe this can spawn some more discussion in light of the recent topics about: growing the sport, participation at major matches, winning more medals on...

TCAnthony: I just read that as well in USA Shooting News that the Championship of the Americas team would be comprised entirely of juniors this time. That is a departure from how they did it last time and from what they published earlier this year as the official selection process. But, I think it's...

Looks like the dates for 2005 Nationals are finalized:
http://www.usashooting.com/news/NewsView.cfm?id=221
At 8 days total, it appears they _did_ compress the schedule in some way.
I guess we'll have to wait and see exactly how.

I also got a ticket at the March match but Phil said to give it to him and he'd take care of it. As best as I know he got it taken care of. In that case, he had approved parking permits, they just hadn't arrived by match day. I think typically Phil does get the permits in time, that month being one ...

Just got the official word from Tim Conrad of USA Shooting. Apparently shooters must fire 3 Olympic courses of fire PER 12 MONTH PERIOD, NOT PER QUARTER. Hope this helps. --Matt -------- [Tim's Response] We documented this about a year ago in USA Shooting News, but have not said much about it since....

Steve,
The methodology is described in the article below:
http://www.usashooting.com/News/NewsView.cfm?id=163
I see you're not listed in the National Rankings. From what I've heard/seen, there are a number of people not showing up for some reason who should be.
