Re: ISSF Free Pistol

Plus the mixed team matches are great!

I love Free Pistol but most ranges I know in Belgium don't have 50 meters, which makes it difficult to practice and to have more people that compete.

Re: Cylinder pressures wrt match prep

I fill the air bottle right after each training and match. You don't want to be in a hurry and have to wait in line before the match starts. You have to learn where the gauge indicator is when you start having issues and stay clear of that. In principle you should not go that far down with a full re...

Re: Another SCATT question

The image here compares SCATT Basic, Expert and Pro: https://forum.scatt.com/threads/software-versions-comparison.50/post-150 Basic only traces the speed of the last second of the trace (S1). The other softwares also record the last 0.25/0.20 seconds of the shot (S2). There's also a good indicator c...

Re: New to shooting

I think there is someone in Belgium who writes a blog called Olympic Pistol whom you can also contact for some information. That would be me :) Forget about buying a pistol for a while. First go to a shooting club and see how they do the introduction to shooting. To my knowledge all Belgian clubs l...

Re: Trainning AP 10m

... also saw that you use scatt. I have a doubt regarding the values of S1. What does that value mean and what should be a good value? S1 is the speed of your trace during the last second of your shot (the yellow and blue trace). S2 is the last 0.25 or 0.20 seconds of your shot depending on your ...

Re: Trainning AP 10m

Are you only shooting matches during practice? What I've seen in the literature is that at least three days a week training is recommended to progress and that just shooting matches is not enough, but it is up to you to choose what to do. From what I've learned, when you train you should focus on sp...

Re: Practice

I practice 5 to 6 days a week. The way I spread it is 3 days of conditioning, 3 or running/swimming/cardio, 5 of technical training and if possible include a competition in those 5. If you are looking for some exercises, I've compiled a few here: https://www.olympicpistol.com/pistol-home-exercises-a...

Re: Wanting to start

Scatt Expert runs on Windows MacOS and Linux. An old computer will do the job. For SCATT Professional you can use VMWare (recommended by SCATT or VirtualBox to run Windows on MacOS or Linux. There's a free testing version of Windows 10 that you can download and use without having to activate it. If ...

Re: Sport Quantum electronic targets

I wrote a review: https://www.olympicpistol.com/sport-quantum-air-pistol-rifle-electronic-target-review/ Really nice software interface. Did not have a chance to shoot much in it. My biggest fear is the life of the plastic that the pellets hit and the price of new sheets. Price last year was €2160 p...

Re: Who shoots other disciplines?

I do airsoft for fun and to get a workout, but I consider it more a live video-game than related to issf shooting. I don't even look at the sights! The one I love and have lots of fun with is what we call woodcutter shooting: two teams saw a beam with their guns (talk about burning ammo!). Also othe...

I'm researching an article on how to find out what kind of thread and adapter you need. It is a mess.

The model I tried is the air model, so no real bullets against it.

Check their websites and contact them https://inband.fi https://inband.us I'm sure they'll get back to you quickly.

Re: Hammerli AP20 PRO cylinder hand pump charging

Is the pump really that nasty on cylinders? If it was @GoodEnuf would have had lots of trouble during the decades he's been using them. I've also spoken with coach Daniel Goberville about this and he says that as long as you pump with the valve open 4 or 5 times before and after filling it is not re...

Re: Inband Air electronic target review

Yes, it is needed. At least Sius and Intarso make targets with roll to check shots in competitions when there are complaints. I've had issues shooting on targets that did not have a roll and they are a pain to find out who is wrong (machine or shooter). The target behind the roll is what is needed f...

It is explained in the article: 1cm by default and you can change it to whatever you want. Also that it is not used to detect the impact and would detect a shot in exactly the same hole.

Re: Inband Air electronic target review

I can't help but say though, you should really take this out of your living space. Lead is not something I'd want there in any form, especially not with kids present. Be careful, in any event! How accurate do you think it is? I'm surprised it uses microphones to be able to locate the shot so precis...
