Hi, I'm open to suggestions, though I think by covering a wider base it would be more useful to everyone involved. To be honest, I'm quite out of my depth here when it comes to content, because I've only shot in 2 disciplines before, 10m Air Rifle and 10m Air Pistol, and currently only 10m Air Pisto...

Hello people,

The wiki is set up, and can be found at http://www.metaforix.net/shooting. It is a default install, so everything, including the logo, is the default.

Please contribute to this resource for the better of the shooting community. Sign ups are enabled for the time being.

Thank you
:)

Hello people. I'm glad that there is some level of interest. The reason I am suggesting hosting the wiki on a private site, as opposed to Wikipedia, is because hosting it on a private website gives shooters a higher level of control over the content. I am proposing that the administration of users b...

Creation of a Common Shooting Resource

Hey people, While lurking at the Olympic Pistol forum, I came across this post suggesting a consolidation of all shooting information into a wiki. As I have not come across such a site before, I would like to gauge the general response first. Would you shooters be interested in helping to set up suc...

Wrist Weights

Hi, I'm using a Steyr LP2 (what's it's weight, by the way?). I recently bought a wrist weight that's around 0.45kg, or 1lb (I think). This is how I intend to use the wrist weight: Attach it to my wrist when I'm not training, so that my muscles get used to the weight. When I train, I'll remove the wr...

Do keep in mind that aiming area is the accepted norm for shooting, not aiming point. As long as the sights wobble within an acceptable area, it's fine. Though I would like to know, is the score decline normal? I experience the same problem of the score declining after concentrating on the front sig...

Hi, Just came back from the range. It seems that my shot groupings are tighter now, as most of the shots land inside the 8-ring and the occasional flier into the 7-ring. However, it is very hard to maintain my concentration. If my concentration breaks and I go back to referencing the target, then th...

So general consensus is that I should just "attempt" to ignore the target? I'm not sure about this, because I don't feel comfortable shooting "blind".

Anyway, I'll give it a try. If I get interesting results I'll post them here.

Sights

Hi, I'm shooting 10m air pistol. I've read a number of shooting guides and threads on this forum. There is one recurring piece of advice: to ignore the target and focus instead on the relationship between the front and rear sights. My question is, without the target as a point of reference, how does...

Yes, there is. However, I'm not really sure what's the purpose of it since the screw doesn't seem to be doing anything useful. Even when I screw the screw inwards, the barrel weight still falls off. =(

It looks like it's supposed to be. But since there's nothing to attach it, the moment I lift up the gun the weight falls off. Trust me, I've tried it many times and ended up looking like an idiot in the range because everytime the weight fell onto the table it made this really loud clanging sound.

Steyr LP2 Barrel Weights

Hi all,

I would like to know how I can attach the included barrel weights onto my Steyr LP2? There doesn't seem to be anything for the barrel weight to attach itself firmly on.

Thanks
