Re: IZH 46M malfunction

FYI, There are quite a few IZZY parts - direct from Russia - on Ebay. This is the valve spring - #13 - but it looks a good bit longer than what you have pictured in your instructions. I have emailed the seller to clarify - but no response yet. https://www.ebay.com/itm/IZH-46-46M-Original-Valve-sprin...

Re: IZH 46M malfunction

Gwhite, Thanks so much for that detailed information! I actually had a stuck trigger a few years ago and fixed it with the help of your instructions; I think I can use the two files on the breech block to figure out my problem - if not Pilkguns will attempt a repair. Once again thanks - everybody wi...

Re: IZH 46M malfunction

Kevin, Thanks for your suggestion, I think it has something to do with the breech block - which frequently does not stay open when I attempt to charge the cylinder. The breech block tends to flop down unless I hold it open - unfortunately holding it open does not necessarily allow me to charge the c...

Re: IZH 46M malfunction

What trigger adjustment are you suggesting? How would the trigger control the charging of the cylinder?

Thanks, Dan

IZH 46M malfunction

The seal on the IZH is weak, but this is a strange problem. I pump and charge the cylinder but there is no release of air when I pull the trigger - it's exactly like a dry fire - however if I immediately pump and charge the cylinder again, it fire normally. Any ideas on what the problem and solution...

Re: Inconsistent groups

I've tried three different ammos; CCI Standard, Aquilla Target and Aquilla Pistol. Results are the same regardless, after 20-30 shots the groups open up. Thanks, Dan

Re: Inconsistent groups

I shoot 5 shots - usually takes a minute, maybe two - look through the scope, reload, shoot again. I have never noticed the barrel being "hot".

Inconsistent groups

I have noticed that after the first 20-30 shots the groups from my High Standard (Citation, Hamden) open from 2" to 5-6". I thought it might be fatigue or poor technique, but I've carefully checked it using a rest - same results. It doesn't matter if the barrel and chamber are clean or if ...

High Standard Pistol maintenance

Hello,

I just purchased a Victor circa 1973 that the seller claims has not been fired - and by the looks of it I agree. After so many years on the shelf is there any special maintenance should be performed?

Thanks, Dan

Target Pistols and CT weapons ban

The CT assault weapons ban includes "pistols with a detachable magazine forward of the trigger." Are there any exceptions? Are the Pardini and Benelli 22LR target pistols banned as "assault weapons"?

Thanks, Dan

Solomon, I have a couple of the older High Standards. I've ordered spring kits from either Brownell's, Midway or Numrich - can't remember which but they had everything I've needed. There are aftermarket barrels available, and used barrels on gunbroker.com (and others). There is an active web site fo...

Thanks for the suggestion. Ejecting a spent shell might give me a better idea of the problem. However, I don't know how I can adjust the Trailside magazine because it's made of hard plastic - there is nothing that can be bent. Also, I have a couple of magazines and it happens with each one of them. DR

A couple of years ago I was looking for a starter gun to try Bullseye pistol. I settled for a used High Standard with military grips. It is very accurate so I bought another with the slant grips - and very accurate. Off a bag, I can shoot in the x ring all day long with CCI standard ammunition. Both...

I removed the slide and the extractor - didn't see anything unusual. The bluing on the working surface of the extractor is wearing thin, but nothing broken or worn in any unusual way.

Trailside ejection problem

Recently my Trailside began throwing the shells directly back in my face rather than out to the side. Have stripped and cleaned it, can't seem to find anything unusual but can't resolve the problem. Never have had a problem like this with any of my other pistols. Any ideas on what is causing the pro...

I purchased one 18 months ago, had a strange problem with it and sent it to EAA (not the seller) who repaired it quickly and at no cost. I know that info doesn't help you with Arizona, but for future reference.
