Re: Steel pins all over the grip
I'd recommend a light coat of either fine sand, or if you want something a little grippier, aluminum oxide grains, embedded in either a coat of latex paint, or for a little less tack, urethane. Both of those will give you enough grip they will take skin off. The latex paint will stick to your hands...

Re: Steel pins all over the grip
Or you could just use resin powder.....or would that be too simple ? You mean rOsin powder? Do shooters use rosin powder? I've never heard. And maybe the powder may get into the mechanism, and into the barrel. Your palms will be in the powder. You take a pellet with dusted fingers and insert into t...

It's air pistol for 10 meter shooting (ISSF).

I don't mind. The question is not about comfort.Chia wrote:Pinhead from hellraiser comes to mind. I don't imagine that being a comfortable surface to grip. While comfort isn't #1 in consideration that uh...no thanks.
The question is: can it improve the results?

Re: Steel pins all over the grip
Too difficult, if it is a hardwood grip, use a good stippling surface with a linseed oil finish and you will have a slip proof surface. What is difficult? Screwing a handful of screws and cutting their heads off? We are training for years. Isn't it difficult? And if such modification to the grip is...

Steel pins all over the grip
I suppose I need an absolutely slip resistant grip. Now I'm thinking of a pieces of steel wire pinned into the grip and protruding from it. Say, let the diameter of the wire be 0.7 mm. Each piece will be inserted to a depth of 5 mm into the grip and will protrude for 0.5 mm over the surface. Maybe n...

Re: Nice teaching from an old friend
The lectures are nice. There is a whole cycle there. But as far as I can understand, putting the feet parallel to each other is a more modern methodology. In bygone days they taught us to put our feet at shoulder length. And at the natural angle of the feet. But now the couches tend towards parallel...

Re: Adding weight to the grip
Well, in the book there is no comment on that. It would be interesting to know which book and who the author is. Russian books. Several. For example, by Itkis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moisei_Itkis I'll try to translate: "Applying weight to the weapon develops the ability to work without ...

Re: Adding weight to the grip
What are you trying to achieve? If it is hold endurance in resistance/strength then you're going the wrong way about things imho. Well, in the book there is no comment on that. The mechanism of the exercise is: change whatever you can. The trigger weight - less and more. The length of sight line: m...

Adding weight to the grip
For training purposes I'm going to add some weight to my air pistol. I have read this in a book: add some weight, take a lighter pistol, shift the balance to the muzzle, shift it to the grip. So, now let's discuss adding some weight. I mean not to balance the pistol but really to train the body. May...

Should I make a grip for a leftie? Or just holding my ordinary grip in the left hand will be enough?

Training the other hand
Whatever I have read about training the other hand is about physical training. For example holding a pistol in the other hand (2-3 min x 4-5 times). But what troubles me is whether there is a resource for the training of the brain here. I mean that if we perform ordinary shooting exercises holding t...

Re: MP-46M and Scatt
It's going to be tricky. Well, I'm confused a bit. I once had a chance to try SCATT. I was in a shooting club and there was a SCATT there. I came to the coach and asked for permission. It was he who told me that you have MP-46 and you will have to make some yoke for the sensor to be attach to the s...

MP-46M and Scatt
Could you help me understand whether it is possible to attach Scatt sensor to the MP-46M? I mean what about the lever? I've heard that people attach the sensor through a DIY yoke to the front sight base (number 10 in exploded parts scheme). I'm considering buying a SCATT for myself. So, it is not fo...

Don't you adjust the trigger with some margin of safety? I use a weight of 550 gr.Gwhite wrote: If you've ever wrestled with this, you quickly understand why they changed away from the roller.

Re: Spring on the trigger
I would like to find a clarification by ISSF about that notch on the trigger. not really necessary to have it clarified - everybody (except some coaches and some manufacturers) seems to understand the intent. It depends. If you see such notches every day, this may be obvious. If you have just notic...

Do you really need any feedback? My coach used to tell me: the shot should be unexpected.
