Re: Advantages of clear sights
There were two in WAR at WAG and there was one in all three finals. So thats a 50% percentage. Tubed front sights only made the final less than 10% of the time. Must be the thing to do!! (Sarcasm) I did look through one and the front apature did seem to provide more contrast. The outside ring where...

Hello, I will try my best to answer all of your questions. 1. If you don't adjust the duplex ring(via adjustment knobs), your sight picture is going to look something like this. It will be necessary for you to adjust the duplex until all the rings are properly aligned. http://i61.photobucket.com/al...

Re: Advantages of clear sights
Give it a try if you like, but I suspect you will learn why the front sight hood was created in the first place. I'm baffled that's why. I know the purpose of the front sight tunnel is to help align the rear and front sight. But there must be a reason for why pp prefer it e.g. Nicco. I don't have 1...

Advantages of clear sights
I've noticed that quite recently clear front sights is becoming popular with manufacturers coming out with it. http://www.nbcolympics.com/sites/default/files/field_image/17August2016/814_sh_4246_riflethreeposition.jpg http://tec-hro.de/schiesssport/en/aiming-rear-sight/477-tec-hro-clear-sight.html h...

Re: Anschutz Match 54.30
I was lucky to get one the first shipped to the US last spring. Very accurate rifle; no reason to hang a tuner on the end shooting Midas or Center X. I have long arms so the loading port didn't change my technique. I like the precise stock other than it not being designed for extra stock weights. I...

Re: Free Rifle prone event remove from the Tokio 2020 OG
At least we get to prone People seem to keep forgetting that women don't have OG prone. Something that the male dominated discussion seems to continuously be overlooking. And once you understand that little fact, why is it so important for men to have prone and not the women? How about eliminate on...

Henri's latest post: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1621078351522384&id=100008607047880 After reading that post and many comments that followed, I think that the best compromise or deal we can have with ISSF is to change 50m prone men to 10m air rifle prone mixed. At least we ...

Re: Tokyo 2020: ISSF Ad-Hoc Committee releases Shooting prog
Well to the best of my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong) for the past 40 years there was little to no change under the helm of the same person but why only such a huge, sudden change for this past 4 years (quali scores not brought to finals, finals format change and then now classics removed)? Ma...

Re: Free Rifle prone event remove from the Tokio 2020 OG
If they remove it from the world cups as well this will be the death of smallbore rifle. People don't just go straight into 3P or can afford to, they start with Air and prone and that sometimes seeds into 3P. No prone means no 3P. Amazingly, all the new sports added to the Olympic Games have surviv...

Re: Best Triggers for Air Pistol
GWhite, again a very interesting description. So, what would be the second stage movement for a trigger to be defined 'rolling'? would the force linearly increase with the displacement in such a trigger. Yes. At least in the typical trigger mechanism, as the trigger moves, it is compressing a sprin...

Re: Best Triggers for Air Pistol
I'm a competitive AP shooter and I'm very anal and sensitive about triggers. ..... 1. Minimal or no movement when the trigger breaks. (As crisp as possible, the trigger mechanism should not jerk the gun when it breaks) 2. Over-travel as smooth as possible. 3. Ability to adjust over-travel distance ...

Re: Getting past a shooting plateau?
Hi all, I have seem to hit a shooting plateau. I have been consistently in the 530s/540s range outta 600 in Smallbore 3 pos and 540s outta 600 in Air Rifle. Especially in matches. I am trying to get out of the score based mindset and I would really like to get better as a shooter but score is the b...
