My MG2 is great -- but jams ARE hard to clear and do happen. Cleaning is not fun, and it demands to be clean if it is going to keep working. I bought it more or less on a lark, offered fairly cheap by a dealer clearing it out (are there US dealers now?) and I guess I made a mistake. Oh well, live an...

Re: Why don't people like the Walther SSP?

The toss-up for me is between the SSP and the Pardini. I think the GSP is horribly ugly - even worse than the IZH46 I have! Let me know your opinions and experiences Owing many different types of FP and other 22s, I passed on the SSP and stayed with the Pardini (just getting the Rapid Fire conversi...

I understood that, but still find this load insufficient to properly function. There are a slew of 'sqib loads' which may be useful for dispatching an overly-aggressive ant, but worthless for our type of shooting. Dave

I have had very, very bad luck with the CCI CB loads. My personal theory is that if the lightest loads work --- RWS 25 -- then stay with those. The whole idea of 22 short RF is minimum possible movement at the muzzle, so there is no advantage to additional velocity if accuracy is the same. The only ...

Try the new US importer, Larry's guns (www.larrysguns.com) If he does not have one, he can order one from the factory. Dave

Thanks. My friend is willing to swap me the gun for a target rifle I am selling and I will contact the US dealer and follow up on your comments. I helped him take the gun down and clean it up (the amount of dirt and general garbage from the first couple hundred rounds was substantial.) Perhaps that ...

Yes. Cleaned the chamber completely. Could not find out what type of ammunition the gun is supposed to use. Help there would be appreciated since when the gun was working properly, I was VERY impressed. Dave

Matchguns MG-2 ATTENTION TYCHO

After the last thread, a friend who follows this group called me to say he had just purchased a new MG-2 RF (non-electronic trigger) and expected to get it delivered to his dealer yesterday. He asked me to come out with him to break in the new gun. I agreed. I met him at the dealer and unpacked his ...

I have had good luck with the Fiocchi 22 short Match. The RWS 25 works fine in most Hammerli but given the ported barrels of my Unique DES 69, and the slightly heavier reciprocating parts the Fiocchi worked a bit better having a tad more 'oomph.' Dave

I would tend to agree that the real-world difference in accuracy between the 32 SW Long WC and the 38WC is not that great. I came to this conclusion shooting several guns that are not a 'souped up 22s' as several have termed the Walther/Pardini etc versions of rim fire pistols. Using the 'grown up' ...

Nicely but, no doubt. And not able to compete in price based on old machinery and 'old ways' -- labor costs go up and it is cheaper to use more automated and more modern machinery and parts made in a faster and less expense method. That leaves those of us who appreciate fine workmanship with nice co...

Actually, my firm was a beta test site for several computer companies and software products (I do some IP representation.) The computers and the software was free, which is how beta test works here in the US. Anyone who pays for the 'privilege' of being a beta tester is someone I would like to meet....

Oh, I agree the concept is fascinating and, when it is working right, I might really love one. I simply disagree that releasing a product that has so many bugs in it and using the buyer as your testing base is the right way for a company to proceed. And, who pays to upgrade the existing and non-work...

Okay, let me commit common sense here: If there are several other pistols which are just as accurate, but have none of the reliability issues of the MG2, why would you pay something that doesn't work right? Is there something so unique about this gun that, when it works, that makes it so superior to...

Re: Was NEVER satisfyed with my CM22. NEVER!

AW 93 is also now a 'mature' designe, and others such as the Pardini SP and the Morini CM 22 have also been around long enough that any issues have been ironed out Dave The issues of the CM22 have been ironed out, you postulate? No, I do not agree with you at that point at all... Rgdz, untill recen...

My experience with Larry has been more positive than yours, apparently. I agree that the late Don Nygord was one of a kind, a great human being and a superbly astute shooter and gun importer. It was a genuine pleasure to deal with him. Yes, Larry is just getting his feet wet with Pardini, but from m...

The CCI plastic 100 boxes is good practice ammo, and fairly reliable. I have had no bad luck with RWS 25 which I use in my Pardini GPE which is set up to digest low power 22 shorts, while my older Hi Standard Olympics love the CCI Target 22 Shorts in the 100 round plastic box. Again, as noted by som...
