Re: Old man wants to keep shooting but seeks advise
I agree with gwhite, but I'll also agree that opening your stance will help you. It will reduce tension in your neck, to shift the pistol closer to your new aiming eye. But re-evaluate it when you get the new grip, or any change to the position in your hand. It's all related!

Re: Old man wants to keep shooting but seeks advise
7 degrees will magically redirect the pistol to your other eye, but you can try it without changing grips. Try some putty on the side of the vertical area at the rear left of the grip, where it contacts the bone at the heel of your right hand. That will naturally rotate the pistol in a similar way. ...

Re: Front post vs rear notch size?
Thanks folks. I'm shooting a izh 46m. I recently saw the sight radius listed online as 342 - 364? Is it actually possible to adjust, mine is definitely 364, would love to shorten it a bit. The front sight holder can slide on the barrel, but on my AV46M, it can only move about 8mm back before it hit...

Re: Sciatica and Stance
Definitely the open stance can reduce pressure between pelvis and spine. I don't have sciatica, but I do have a tight SI joint on the right, and small changes in foot rotation make a big difference. I adjust my stance during long matches frequently. I also sometimes bend my torso (at the waist) away...

Rinks for the Buckmark? I know Nill makes them (have a pair, they run small!), but haven't heard that Rink does.

Re: "Sensive" Trigger Blades for Air Pistol?
I don't think those button-type triggers are a good choice for AP, it seems as if you would need to put the center to exactly the right spot on your fingertip every time, and if you have a tactile sensitivity issue, that would make it harder, not easier, to do so. That said, I haven't tried them mys...

Re: AW93 Trigger Issue
There's a spring on the left side of the grip, directly rearwards of the trigger, which can contact the inner surface and cause the trigger bar to hang up slightly. It can actually add some drag to the trigger feel, as well. I shaved off some wood on the inside of the grip to allow more clearance. Y...

Re: Question about Rink grips
Nill's ortho grips are somewhat "fuller" in the palm area, and are a bit more vertical. OTOH Rink's models have many more fit options, notably the upswept palm rest (which is entirely unavailable from Nill). They build for a somewhat different spectrum of guns as well, Nill makes grips for...

Re: Benelli MP90s Double Fire
A broken firing pin can do this, and is very easy to check by removing the bolt and taking the pin out. The pistol can often work (mostly) fine with a broken pin. You can check for gunk in the firing pin channel while you're in there. Second possibility is slamfire as spektr mentions. The dimensions...

Re: Mobile Apps
Targetscan accuracy is great but it requires a good image to get there. The photo's hole backlighting, straight-on orientation and distance from the target are all very important. If the image is oblique or fisheyed it induces error. You can't just whip off a quick snapshot and expect perfection. Bu...

Upper forearm tennis elbow bands are allowed in NRA events now. You did not mention what class you're shooting in though, so you'll really need to check with your own match organizer.

Re: pardini sp trigger reset is very slow
SK Magazine bulk pack is a different matter, I'm talking about the boxed product. The packaging alone, where the rounds bang into each other in handling, make me avoid the Magazine. In addition to the fact it's unrated for velocity, etc as are all the other products.

Re: pardini sp trigger reset is very slow
In tens of thousands of rounds of SK Standard Plus and Pistol Match, I can't remember a single quality issue. I'd be surprised to hear of one. CCI, now and then yes though.

Re: Upgrading "component"s of Walther LP 500 Basic
Compensators can have negative effects btw, especially the ones which expel gases in a specific direction. The pressures within the body deflect the projectile in subtle ways. These effects can become larger if material builds up. Try removing the compensator to see if the shots settle down - the gr...

Re: Air Pistol Trigger Timing vs Area of Aim
Any tips on what colour of lines to look for? Well, blue and yellow. Blue is the pre-triggering movement, and yellow the movement just before the break. The X3 will show a red trace for post-shot movement. Here's an old example from my history, showing a decent hold but the actual shot was out of t...

Re: Air Pistol Trigger Timing vs Area of Aim
This is an older Mantis, I'll have to find a way to attach to my Izzy, maybe with a plastic cable tie to the barrel. Any tips on what colour of lines to look for? Stan I glued a small magnet to mine, and I slap it on the side of the frame as close as possible to the trigger or sear, depending on th...

Re: Air Pistol Trigger Timing vs Area of Aim
All told, it's much less expensive, and is very convenient to use. I have the X2 (dryfire-only) model, and I use it often. Does it work for AP? I bought X3 to try. On my .22 it detected ~ 8/10 dry shots, 9/10 live ones. On Izzy (attached to the pumping arm), it did not detect dry shots at all (some...
