Re: MantisX

I use the X2 (dryfire model) on my Benelli MP90S, and find it quite helpful for triggering practice. I use a magnet to stick it to the side of the frame. I've used it to tweak the position and anqle of the trigger shoe, slightly. I've also found it fascinating to compare the difference from aiming a...

Re: Oiling Top Round in Semi-Auto Magazines?

Yay. Yep, chamber crud strikes again. I love the BoreTech Rimfire too. It's especially effective when you can see it foaming up after the initial brushing strokes. I had a round do that olympic backflip stovepipe 10.0 once, but it was because it hit the scope tube, which I have since modified to pro...

My Benelli MP90S will launch 500-1000 reliable shots of SK Pistol Match before dropping hints that it needs cleaning. Just sayin'.

I do agree with all your suggestions though.

Re: Oiling Top Round in Semi-Auto Magazines?

Yuck, never. In my experience with any kind of euro pistol, the chamber is tight enough that even a little oil interferes with case blowback/extraction. The first round after cleaning the barrel always becomes an FTE. If it's practice, or bullseye slowfire, no big deal, I just plan on it happening. ...

Re: Benelli mp90s Rear Sight Plate

I found my MP95E sight and yes, it looks like the adjustable sight will work per GWhite's fearsome instructions. Here is a photo - the pin that holds the blade to the bracket is at the top of the photo, at the center of the sight blade (there is some sort of bushing on mine, additionally in-between)...

Re: Benelli mp90s Rear Sight Plate

The MP90S has come with this sight for some time, mine has it. It's quite nice, in fact. I'm not sure if it bolts on to the old-style sight, but I have one here somewhere from an MP95E, I'll try to dig it out and see. The Rink grip will probably need some very minor adjusting. I bought a left-handed...

Re: Practice

I have bought a Mantisx X2 model, it is just an accelerometer. People have raved about it. But I found most of its data not useful to me. However, there is one feature that kept me from returning the unit. It has a timed graph chart of my pre-shot blue line and follow through red line. My follow th...

That nutjob is putting 9mm ammo in his .38 revolver. And put three cubes in his glass of whatever.

Re: Ice or no ice in your Bourbon?

Thanks, yeah, but the 16yo price makes my eyes water :) I like the 8yo enough I guess.

Oban 14 is also in the cabinet and much liked. Will try the Singleton and see if it passes the just-as-good test!

Peaty!

Any suggestion for taming the smokiness of the Lagavulin 8yr? Ice does nothing. Drop of water helps but only a little.

Never. I always add one cube to the Bourbon.

My son found some silicone rubber hexagon ice trays, the "cubes" are spot-on perfect size and shape for this.

Re flying, "the bottle to throttle rule", my pilot friend says.

Re water in Scotch, you can buy a flask of water of the river that flows through the distillery, right? For about as much as the Scotch. ;)

Re: Benelli mp90s trigger adjustment

Interesting grip marking! The Nill grip on the one I purchased several years ago does not have the Benelli logo, it has the usual KN branding. It also looks a bit "slimmer" and more rounded on the ends than the current Nill design. The heel of the palmrest, for example, is rounded and the ...

I'm not a free pistol shooter but the pistols we're talking about have extremely light and sensitive triggers, some adjusted as low as 50 grams. Necessarily single stage.
