Not trying to convince you, but Andrew has a wood composite material available which is very un-plasticlike. It's sandable and even takes an oil finish.

Re: Benelli First stage Trigger length

IIRC, the trigger doesn't move much but the distance does change. I think it moves differently if you adjust when the hammer is cocked, but there is resistance in that case. I do agree that staying between the lines doesn't seem like enough. As with any adjustment on this module, make minimal change...

Re: Benelli First stage Trigger length

9 o'clock is pretty far, but if the gun cocks reliably it may be ok. Be EXTREMELY cautious when first firing with multiple rounds in the magazine. If the sear doesn't catch, the pistol will go full-auto. I keep mine no more than 8-ish. A drop of oil on the pivots and plungers is ok, but grease shoul...

Re: MantisX

They've simplified the settings in recent versions of the software. There is no longer any "sensitivity" setting, it's pretty much automatic, and accurate. There is a setting for the type of gun, which might mean they have pre-set values for many. I was happy to find my Benelli MP90 in the...

Re: ISSF 25m Standard dryfiring at 8/10 meters

The Scatt software can print targets scaled to tenths of a meter. It will do this even in demo mode, very useful.

Re: Benelli MP90s Adjustment screw

I think it's standard M3, but yeah, very special shape. You'll need the authentic item. One possibility might be to repair the top surface, with epoxy or some careful filing/machining. Probably not worth it. Tip: if you remove it, be sure to tie the sight down with a ziptie because the tension sprin...

Re: Benelli mp90s trigger unit maintenance

The most important thing is not to store it in a cocked condition. That can weaken the hammer spring over time. ... Using the dry fire plug is fine if you have one that works I'm not sure I agree that this is accomplished when the dryfire plug is in place. When dry firing, the hammer only strikes t...

Re: Benelli mp90s trigger unit maintenance

Definitely no ultrasonic baths. All that will do is drive dirt deep into the mechanisms and trigger plungers. The only cleaning I do is to wipe off the top surfaces, and run a swab or cloth through the magazine channel, where carbon adheres. I also wipe off the hammer surface, where it strikes the f...

Excellent source, since it includes recent years most of the other online Italian date code lists only (much) earlier ones. I've taken the liberty of excerpting the important table below! Re: Benelli sight adjuster detent

Ok, the issue is settled, at least for my pistol: 2mm . 1.5mm - falls through hole 2.5mm - sits too high, falls out 2.0mm - nestles in like a coddled egg Photo looks exactly like nik365's, below. I plan to use a dot of threadlocker to keep the parts from departing the seating hole. And I did not req...

Re: Benelli sight adjuster detent

Aha! Evidence of The Balls. Thanks. I will try some 1.5mm, and 2mm if they fall through. I think your diagram and mine are the same, but yours is a lot clearer. Mine is apparently a reprint, although original. It's commercially printed, rebranded to the USA importer at the time (EAA in Cocoa Beach F...

Re: Benelli sight adjuster detent

Mine must be from the tiny-ball era. Also predating the printing press, apparently :) The holes are definitely 1.5mm. A #52 drill bit is a no-go, a #53 is a go. #53 is exactly 1.5mm, so I would be quite surprised if a 1.5mm bb will ride and not fall through! I will experiment. Regarding springs 069P...

Re: Benelli sight adjuster detent

Both are through holes, 1.5mm. I will try a 2mm bb.

Very strange these are not shown on the diagram, if so. I am looking at the one in the manual that came with the gun, in addition to other sources.

Re: Benelli MP90s cleaning, and Ammunition Question

If you have to take the bolt apart, I have a tool that makes it pretty easy. I made a bunch with the intention of offering them for donations to the team I help coach, but I haven't gotten around to figuring out shipping costs. Thumbs-up on my newly received third hand. The beveled extractor slot i...

Benelli sight adjuster detent

I'm reinstalling the rear sight onto my MP95E Benelli. It's an older model pistol and the sight has been off for some time. I've collected all the parts and cannot figure out what is missing from the click detents. Here are two photos showing the ~1.5mm holes (see arrows) under the adjusters for bot...

Re: Benelli MP90s cleaning, and Ammunition Question

I have no idea when Benelli manufactures their pistols, or resupplies parts. The US supplier was a sole proprietor, who passed away almost two years ago. His business has since been reopened under a new owner, but the pipeline is not fully up. To my knowledge there are no new pistols being imported....

Re: Benelli MP90s cleaning, and Ammunition Question

I completely agree with GWhite that the bolt rarely needs to be dismantled, and only slightly needs oiling. One area to inspect though is the little lengthwise slot below the tip of the firing pin. It often gets crudded up with wax and carbon, and can cause the pin to stick. When the pin fails to re...

Re: Oiling Top Round in Semi-Auto Magazines?

Would love to see photo(s), even without a writeup! Taking a close look at mine just now, with the chamber empty I don't see any outward deflection of the extractor as the bolt closes, but I do see a slight rearward movement indicating the extractor is certainly touching something in the barrel/bree...

Re: Oiling Top Round in Semi-Auto Magazines?

...The tip of the extractor in the Benelli hits the slot in the barrel, and how much it gets deflected depends on how well the angle on the tip matches the angle of the bottom of the slot. I matched that carefully, and now the extractor deflects only slightly off the case when the slide closes. So,...
