Re: Bore snake for pistol’s match barrel?

A "pistol" (short) brush can be used like that, yes. You'll trip the bolt latch a time or two though. You can easily brush from the rear of the Benelli frame if you remove the grip. But honestly, it's not something to do very often. Wait until the shots start keyholing, early sign of barre...

Re: Benelli M95 .32 FTF

Excellent. Cleaning the chamber never hurts, but my bet is on the buffer being the fix. Issues with the buffer affect the timing, and that last round is tricky due to the mag spring being at maximum extension. Good to hear it's cycling again.

Re: Benelli M95 .32 FTF

My first guess would be the charge is loaded too lightly, at least, because you say it happens on all four mags.

My second guess would be to inspect the buffer, is the spring tube boring into it, or has the rubber hardened or softened over the years of non-use?

Re: Benelli M95 .32 FTF

What exactly is happening? Does it fail to pick up the round, does the round jam entering the chamber, etc? Can you get a photo, it it's a jam?

Re: Bore snake for pistol’s match barrel?

The most important thing to keep clean on the MP90S is the chamber, which you should do with a .25 cal brush bent into an L. Personally, I only clean the barrel when shots start keyholing, which is caused by small lead deposits and typically thousands of shots. I suggest shooting it for a while and ...

Re: Seen or used this chronometer?

It's an optical chronometer, they shine infrared light and the unit at the top measures the interruptions as projectiles pass through.

Re: Pardini SP bolt wear and failure to feed

SK makes Pistol Match Special which is slightly hotter than regular Pistol Match. The box is a lighter shade of green. Of course, both are pretty much impossible to find right now, but if you can, it might be worth a try before you go cutting anything. SK Standard Plus also shoots well in many pisto...

Re: Bullseye Match - free app for Android, iOS and Windows

...the individual shot scores are all stored in one cell, in my mind they should be in 10 separate cells. But after looking at the data, there really isn't a need to do math on those cells as they are already totaled (including x count) so the raw data cell is more for seeing each string vs using i...

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

Do any of you know if I can lubricate the trigger mechanism, especially to put a bit of moly grease on the sear engagement (not sure if this term applies to airguns)? I see no obvious way to access the trigger internals There are two sears, and I'm not sure I'd recommend applying moly. You can acce...

Re: Bullseye Match - free app for Android, iOS and Windows

I've pushed an update - version 2.0 should appear soon. The various app stores do appear to be pretty backlogged. 2.0 build 110 - 4 January 2021 New feature: Export matches, scoring and photos via email, with .csv attachment! New feature: Support for Target Turner System devices Tap the indicator to...

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

The name is spelled differently, and I don't see any pistol barrels, but it's certainly plausible. Moving up the value chain, maybe by contracting the Baikal factory itself? The barrel on my AV-46M is 280mm long, 10mm O.D., N = 12 , btw. Here's a better closeup of the breech: AV-46M-BreechCloseup.jpg

Re: Pardini SP bolt wear and failure to feed

I highly doubt it's the SK lube. I know many Pardini SP shooters using Pistol Match with no issue - feeding, fouling, etc. Usually, early chamber fouling is a sign of a weak recoil spring. The bolt kicks back too early, while the powder is still in the initial burning stage. The soot builds up quick...

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

Here's an impression using modeling clay. It's more of a bullet-shape!

Crown is about 4.75mm deep, from end of rifling to surface of muzzle.

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

My borescope is 5mm, too large to even get into the crown. But I lined up a little bit outside it for a closeup. The lighting is poor and the reflections make the crown look rough, it really isn't. But what it does faintly show is that the actual crown angle is not flat, it goes in as a 5.8mm cylind...

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

Yes, the Izzys have a 30+ degree crown. The AV's is more like 170, barely more than shaving off the rifling lands. They end several mm before the muzzle. It's certainly different, but as I said, the pistol shoots beautifully in my testing so far. I have a borescope, if I can get some internal close-...

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

It appears it is made in the same Baikal facility, but I have no hard evidence. The cylinder is imprinted with "Made in Russia by Alpha Precision", in English, with the letter F in a pentagon and pictogram of a round-headed skirted pellet. On the other side, similar lettering says to read ...

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

Two more shots, showing the grip mounting detail. Do you think that standard IZH-46M grips will fit? While the laminated grip is one piece, and attaches with two screws only on the left, it seems to me that a two-piece grip will attach just as easily, albeit with shorter screws. The frame holes are ...

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

The pistol, even in its current slightly detuned state, is performing fabulously. I'm almost tempted to leave it alone for the time being. It is quite pleasing to cock it so effortlessly. Anyway, some closeups for your enjoyment. There's a 5-photo forum limit, so it will take another post for all 7....

Re: NG Scope - tripod adapter

Yes, it's a 3/8" hole in the base of the scope. A 3/8"-1/4" adapter comes with them new, since you're in Ottawa you might ask Cibles Canada (http://www.targets.ca/) since they sell them and are just up the road in Hull. Seems to be closed until January 10 though.

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

I'm entirely happy with mine, s.n. 97. I took advantage of the pre-christmas promotion and received it in two days. A little balky at first, out of the cold box, since then it has been perfectly reliable and accurate in two sessions so far. I'm not familiar with the original Izzy so not really quali...
