Re: Looking for a Walther SSP trigger expert

Changing the sear point (screw D) will also affect the felt second stage weight, because of the linear effect on spring force. If you really want to play, try also adjusting screw C, you may find it's a subtle change, but more precise.

Re: Morini Grip Finish Question

The bottle of Scherrell's I got from Rink is nearly clear, just a slight shade of amber. I think there is a dyed version, which might stain, but mine certainly doesn't. And I've had zero trouble with putty sticking after applying it, either on the wood or over the putty and wood, after. It's great s...

Re: Looking for a Walther SSP trigger expert

I am looking at my Walther SSP manual and its all gibberish to me. I am wondering if anyone can define the terms they are using to make them a bit more understandable. Trigger Slack Weight - Screw A - I am thinking this is the weight of the first stage of the trigger? Trigger Slack Path - Screw B -...

Re: "New" Izzy from Air Venturi

I did receive an email informing me the gun needs to be re-adjusted to "Air Venturi specification", as it was detuned for import. I have not checked with a chrono, but I'm not itching to send it back just yet. I'll call them first. It's firing RWS 7gr pellets quite beautifully, though I'v...

Re: New set of newbie questions

There was some sort of trick discussed earlier about spraying something on the ragged-hole material and baking in an oven to make the paper crispy, causing nice holes. Anyone remember the details?

Re: Scatt vs live fire scores?

It's my observation that the Scatt software relocates the center by averaging the movement of the bull just after calibration. The fact that it only needs one sighter, and that it can be pretty much anywhere inside the black, is my evidence. The sighter might be an 8 but the first shot lands magical...

Re: Benelli MP90s Disassembly question

... with the disconnector that removed dry fire capability (doesn't fire with holding the slide back a few mm. How many mm was "a few"? The dryfire bridge on my MP95 measures just under 14mm long, and the function is very sensitive to length. A mm or two longer or shorter disables it. I h...

Re: Benelli MP90s Disassembly question

Inspecting the buffer is trivial, just pop out the rear stop piece. Do you mean the recoil spring and tube? That might be worth a look, but judging by the appearance in the photo, I'd know what to expect.

Maybe treat it like an Internet sale and ask for more pictures! ;)

Re: Benelli MP90s Disassembly question

It's best to cock the hammer, yes. If the bolt is in place, the hammer is pressing forward on it, which makes it very awkward to remove, and the hammer will "snap" when it drops. To reassemble, it must be cocked, otherwise the bolt will interfere since the hammer will be in the way. You don...

Re: IZH 46M pumping lever popping off

I know very little about welding, so I can't say. If I was pressed to come up with that part, I would find a flat piece of metal of the same thickness, drill two holes of correct distance appart and using cutting tools, grinders and dremel finished the profile around them. Very time consuming and P...

Re: IZH 46M pumping lever popping off

Personally I'd look for a top notch precision welder and attempt to repair the part. No way would I attempt to epoxy something around the break. When the part is together, I'd adjust your piston pusher inward enough so there was no chance the compression stroke is bottoming out. A dozen or two fps m...

Re: IZH 46M pumping lever popping off

New AV-46 from Air Venturi has a straight bar or a curved bar? The AV-46M has a bar like the one in your linked diagram, it's straight on the ends and curves upward in the middle. The reason for the curve is so it doesn't contact the slot in compression tube as the piston moves rearward. To me, it ...

Re: Bullseye Match - free app for Android, iOS and Windows

I've pushed an update to version 2.1 build 115 today, which should be filtering its way through the app stores (might take a day or two, they're slow lately). Download links at: https://www.bullseyematch.app/ Here's the "What's New": • Updated call scripts, improved sound clarity • Photo c...

Re: Rink grip sizes

Speaking of which, one thing I've learned from this (and stop me if you know this already) is the best way to measure the width across your knuckles is to use a set of vernier calipers rather than drawing an outline round your hand on a sheet of paper and then taking measurements from that. Obvious...

Re: Scatt Basic vs Expert software

You may also want to consider what device you plan to run the program on. They support Scatt Expert on iOS and Android now, and only the W2 (wifi) model works with those due to the ability to connect the protocol. Windows supports all models, USB works there.
