Re: A A MPR rifle for sale

Most 10m rifles would be going 575-600fps with a low-7 grain pellet. 710fps with a 7.87 is fairly peppy for a 10m gun.

I have a friend looking for a new Silhouette rifle, so I'll pass it along to see if he's interested.

Re: Optics height

As far as I know they are 11mm dovetails so should be universal. If in doubt, contact Pete at D3 Precision as he comes from a 3P background and should have the answer for you.

Re: A A MPR rifle for sale

Question: Is this a 6 ft/lb rifle or has it been sped up for higher velocities?

Re: What to do with old precision air/CO2 rifles

Some classics like FWB 300's and Anschutz 380's still have quite a following. Your best bet is to dig into the generic (non-Olympic) air gun forums like AirgunNation.com, GatewayToAirguns.org, etc. It might take a bit of work but you might be surprised at what is still valuable in someone's eyes. It...

FS: JSB Match/SCHaK pellets

For your consideration... 8 tins of JSB SCHaK pellets, blue sealing tape (8.26 grain?) 1 tin each JSB Match Diablo in light (7.72), medium (8.02) and heavy (8.26) I bought the SCHaK pellets off someone else that had them for a quite a while, so the labels are a bit scuffed from being in the sleeve, ...

Re: Rifle the limiting factor?

Put it on the bench with a solid front rest and a good bag in back on a no-wind day. If your groups are better than your prone groups then it's you and not the rifle. Another thing to check is to make sure you're shooting the best brand/lot of ammo that your rifle likes. If possible, send your rifle...

Re: How to repair number holder clips

Find a boot/shoe repair place near you. They have the tools and knowledge to stitch heavy leather.

I needed a large patch stitched on the back of my Silhouette vest (Cordura-lined top grain leather) and the small boot repair shop charged me less than ten bucks to glue and sew it on.

Re: Spotting Scammers

I don't have any buy/sell history or feedback on this site, but plenty on other reputable sites such as Rimfire Central, Steel Chickens, and Accurate Shooter. Asking for trader history on any other reputable site would be another good way to establish credibility before moving forward with a sale or...

Re: 100 yard Air Rifle Standing

Not many folks want to stand up and shoot. I compete in Metallic Silhouette and we shoot air rifles at up to 45 yards, smallbore rifles at 100 meters, and high power rifles out to 500 meters... all standing/off-hand. More powerful air rifles are becoming fairly popular, so I've been waiting for some...

Re: The State of Smallbore Rifle Competition in America

Steve, We put out half-scale animals along with the 1/5 scale for anyone new or just getting started. It gives them a chance to get used to the line calls, timing, moving positions, etc. while still hitting enough targets for it to be fun. If they choose to shoot at the small targets that’s ok too, ...

Re: The State of Smallbore Rifle Competition in America

... Went to the field target nationals in AZ a few years ago and saw fewer shooters there than at a local pickleball tournament, and they were some really good shooters - just not enough of them. Same guys as last year for the most part, very little new blood... ... My heart is with smallbore silho...

Re: Suggestions for Airline Rifle Cases

I bought a Pelican 1750 for my smallbore silhouette rifle and it's been great. I've traveled across the country (plus down to Mexico) half a dozen times so far and not a single worry. Quadruple lock positions means no one is getting in there without tearing the entire case apart. Highly recommended!

Re: Ballistic curtain for .22 lr?

I can't think of any curtain-like material that would stop a 22LR that wouldn't be prohibitively expensive. Just think of how expensive and heavy a blanket-sized bullet-proof vest would be.

I'd be happy to learn of a product out there that fits this criteria, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Re: New member

What you'll notice is there is a lot more adjustability in a 10-meter styled rifle than what we are allowed in smallbore. My Target and Open air rifles have buttplates that are dropped much farther down than I can get with my Hunter-legal smallbore rifle. The additional depth of the fore-end and no ...

Re: Surviving muzzle brakes at the range?

Our club has two range locations in the Houston area. The one I shoot at for smallbore and air rifle silhouette only allows smallbore and air rifles on the silhouette range and pistols on the separate bullseye range and pistol bays about 100-150 yards away. Whenever that range gets flooded out I hav...
