That will teach you to take Rover seriously.sunbeam wrote:Sorry, why would I be kidding you?
I don't understand why you would ask that?
You have said it would be my "best choice" and "good thinking" to get one!
Or is it a double bluff??
I'm not sure who was kidding whom here!

The shop is well worth the trip. It is the holy land of British shooting and you can try before you buy. How many 10m precision gun shops do we have in the UK anyway? 2, 3?

Re: Steyr Evo 10 as first pistol?
Go for the best you can afford. Gamo Compact is best left in the garage!. I started with that then a czech Chameleon before settling on a "proper pistol " FWB P34 that lasted me 16 years. I wasted time and money on economy guns. If you are in UK avoid multishot versions as some comps do no...

The OP has solved the problem by following Silvershooter's advice which is in the user manual, a copy of which is also online.

Can you do it and does it improve your shooting? If so it's a yes yes. If like me you have 50% chance of hitting the back wall then avoid it.

Junior shooters, some ladies, and the elderly might benefit from a lighter pistol is all.

Re: Need help deciding on air tank for PCP.
Just came across this FWB-P8X https://www.feinwerkbau.de/en/Sporting-Weapons/Air-Pistols/NEW-Air-Pistol-Model-P-8X. If you are going to spend some Money on a top shelf air pistol you have better consider a Steyr. I have owned and used extensively several FWBs, among them the P34 and the P44. The ab...

Re: Need help deciding on air tank for PCP.
As a FYI, when the pistol cylinder is filled, it will warm up. Leave the cylinder attached to the SCUBA tank with the valve open for ~ 5 min to let it cool. Otherwise, when the cylinder cools, the fill will be less. NB As the OP is new to PCP it is worth saying you can only do this if the scuba tan...

Re: Rear iris questions
No problem.
The rear iris size will have minimal impact on white round the bull. Need to change front aperture for that.
Rear aperture affects depth of focus and brightness mostly.

Re: LP10 getting 75 shots
Screw in the velocity screw any more, it becomes dangerous. It fires when catch lever is compressed down. Most likely the hammer spring is then coilbound and the sears are not fully engaging. Back it out! Adding washers would cause the same problem but with less of the adjuster screwed in. (Washer ...

Re: Front insert size
As a 67 year old effectively rookie to 10m air rifle I would say it is simply if the black aiming mark wobbles out of the aperture you need a bigger one. (c'mon shoot me down) From the table in the above article with typical 31 inch from eye to front sight, the 3.8m aperture is more for an elite sho...

Re: Rear iris questions
@Mark. I try not to do disservice to anyone. The question was is there a functional difference between the 3 makes of basic iris mentioned. If they contained lenses or filters then optical resolution and distortion might be a factor. But they simply are variable holes, so there is nothing to choose ...

So my first instinct is to pick up a basic adjustable rear aperture to see if getting more light will help. Is there any functional/quality difference between the Anschutz, Centra, and Gehmann to justify the price difference?

Agreed Wasatch. And if these gifted kids think all they need to do is latch onto the system and do Twitbook while it fills, what happens when they fill some place where grown ups operate and nobody explained how to do it properly? "Hey mom at school it didn't go bang like that." You cover ...

No I havent worked with teenagers and given them freedom to prat about with scuba air unsupervised. I would be surprised if it were even legal in my country.
