Re: MG1 Air Tank
My views on Importing firearms are known. Importing isn't for amateurs. Air pistol is pretty simple though.

Re: Friendly advice to new people: ball joint allen wrenches
Why are stainless steel allen wrenches easier to find if you drop them, over ordinary ones? [. . . .] Note of caution: Stainless steel fasteners on guns are neat because they do not rust, and look neat. However they are NOT strong. Many a small bolt has been stripped or simply twisted in two. This ...

Crappy situations may occur, 'tis true. I refer you to Robert Service's "The Three Bares" for more on the subtle interactions between man, chamber pot and tools.Rover wrote:If you have trouble dropping things, don't do your gunsmithing on the throne.

Re: Friendly advice to new people: ball joint allen wrenches
Agree, and that's a good amount to pay for Allen keys. So many sets sold at a couple of pounds/dollars don't even have consistent sizing. Our 99pence store sold allen keys that could be bent by hand (yes I tried it). I would caution about torque. The longer leverage is great for UNdoing, but re-tig...

Friendly advice to new people: ball joint allen wrenches
So I've noticed that we've gotten a fair number of new shooters recently (myself included) and just wanted to share a tip I just figured out about: Buy a full set of Allen wrenches with a ball end in metric sizes, stainless steel preferrably. They're much longer (more torque) and the ball end lets y...

Re: Air Pistol vs Standard Pistol / Expectations and Results
Fair warning, this is advice from a newbie (I just proudly scored a 473 on an Aces Postal CMP competition...first scored match ever.), but I got this trick from a fella who can shoot a hell of a lot better than me (recently scored 370/400), and it works beautifully. I think it might solve a few peop...

Re: How to quiet 22 lr rifle, muzzle in box??
Thanks! I get the barrel vibration and recoil reduction with the more powerful rounds, but does it help with .22lr? That round is pretty soft on the shooter anyway, especially the sub-1000 feet/s stuff.

How do the grips fit you? Are they the same style or different?

Re: How to quiet 22 lr rifle, muzzle in box??
The general idea is that if its not mounted to the firearm, then the ATF has no intrest in regulating it. As a suppressor owner, I can say for certain that there is great utility in owning and using such a device. It pains me the see many sanctioning bodies ruling against their use. Further, its be...

Re: Pros/Cons of shooting Rifle pellets in Pistol?
Very interesting. Mine currently looks like the bottom of the two. It fits more like a block of wood than a grip, but that's probably because I have gigantic hands. I'm having a custom grip made by Andrew at precision target grips to solve the problem. Come to think of it, when I originally ordered ...

Have you tried SCATT to see if it's a flinch or something?paulmcallister wrote:I seem to have the reverse happening. I can fairly consistently break 90 with my LP 10 at 10m but I rarely break 90 on a B8 at 25 yards with my .22 GSP. I'm still trying to figure out what is happening.

Re: New NRA $$$ Cry!!!
I meant amatuers on air pistol. The type of shooting different enough that most U.S. folks wouldn't know what to do with an air pistol (except for bullseye shooters) except maybe give it to their child. Air pistols are considered kid's toys down here. Obviously I don't believe that but...

Re: Pros/Cons of shooting Rifle pellets in Pistol?
Still sighting in the new pistol so the jury's still out regarding accuracy of these pellets, but the price sure is right for training pellets. I have the same gun and RWS Diabolos come out just fine. Shot two tins through it so far. If there's any problems (and there are), they're with the shooter...

You don't get professionals without amateurs, so yeah I agree with this.sparky wrote:Sadly, it seems as though USAS feels if you have no possibility or interest in going to the Olympics, you are not worth their time.
I also plan to prove their plan wrong, but that's a hope for the future.

Re: New NRA $$$ Cry!!!
I don't mind the NRA begging for money, but I do grudge them throwing competitive shooting under the bus...and making a good deal of what they DO support home-brewed events purely for PR purposes. As for USAS, they need to start thinking more about growing the base. With CMP edging closer and close...

Re: Pros/Cons of shooting Rifle pellets in Pistol?
Question for people on this thread (and I recognize that there are varying experience levels): it seems clear that air rifle pellets have at least some preference among higher level shooters. Why do the pellet manufacturers produce match pistol tins then? They seem to sell enough to stay in their ca...
