Re: Tokyo 2020: ISSF Ad-Hoc Committee releases Shooting prog

Not unpopular, but realistic. 50m events (all of them) will be gone soon. (If ISSF "leadership" does not drastically change) Then soon after that, all 10m shooting will be gone. The only shooting events that are really TV worthy if you are honest are the SG events ... but the ISSF "a...

Re: Tokyo 2020: ISSF Ad-Hoc Committee releases Shooting prog

Read a bit further... "Until we have a final decision by the IOC on the 2020 Olympic Program, the ISSF intends to keep all current events in the 2017 ISSF World Cup Series program, and to also conduct the proposed Mixed Gender Team events starting with the first 2017 ISSF World Cup Stage, in N...

Re: Heads Up Date change National Matches

Hell, as an American (albeit one who competes in international muzzle-loading) I find the self-aggrandizement annoying. There's money in Tacti-kewl Tommy run-and-gun. The irony being that there are several defensive shooting schools that are realizing that there's a need to make precision shots at ...

Re: Laser Pointer with simple on/off switch

It should prove to be a reasonably trivial matter to wire in a microswitch between the battery and the battery terminal. Then manual override the regular push button switch with a cable tie. I'm afraid I lack the technical knowledge or the tools to do that. On second thoughts, I´d be very cautious ...

Laser Pointer with simple on/off switch

So for those of us without unlimited funds, electronic trainers are a pipe dream. In the meantime, I noticed that we have these lovely laser pointers that show up beautifully on a white wall with a target taped to it. Going through the shot process with it a few times told me a ton about how I lifte...

Re: LP10 Sight question

Second the sub six hold. Make how low you aim symmetrical with the distances between the front and rear sights. Then use windage and elevation adjustments to place that shot on the 10 circle. That'll give you improved consistency.

Re: New Manurhin MR73 Match shipment arrives in Oz.

I've heard of wedding cakes looking too good to eat. But thats the first gun I've seen that looks too good to shoot! Not my cup of tea personally, but if you enjoy it, hell, have fun.

Re: Pistol from France to USA?

With international laws changing all the time, the above process may have changes. Please consult both a lawyer and Importer. I appreciate the need to consult with a lawyer (since I am one), but I can honestly tell you that no lawyer I know of would be able to tell you anything worthwhile about thi...

Re: Pistol from France to USA?

Okay I am pretty laid back most of the time but I am dead serious when I say don't screw with this stuff. Fair disclosure, I am not involved in the firearms industry directly, so if the practice is different from the laws, I have no control over that. But I can read rules, and there's some things wr...

Re: There are various types of FFL

One type of FFL allows the dealer to import firearms. This is not easy, cheap or quick. Earlier this year I took delivery of two pistols specially imported for me from Germany. It took about 18 months. The penalties for violating the rather complicated US laws are really scary. In order to do this ...

Re: Any Reviews Of Steyr Evo10E Out?

With the sights being adjustable for cant, are there detents or something to lock it in place? I would think if you some how adjusted it or knocked the front sight out of vertical, it could be very annoying if there wasn't a quick way to easily set it so the front and rear sights are perfectly alig...

Re: LP10 Sight question

Agree with the above. You also might want to check how you are holding the grip. I found that changing that affects a lot. Definitely double check which way you need to adjust. Bottoming out is normally a user rather than a gun issue.

Re: High Power Championships

Without getting into politics, because I'm definitely NOT interested in seeing a repeat performance by the poor mods and admin of this site, I look forward to the day that competitive shooting sports are run by and treated with the respect due to them. Shooting well is difficult. It takes time and a...

Re: High Power Championships

CMP and NRA are having a food fight, that's clear. From where I stand, it looks like the NRA is backing away from all competitive shooting...and CMP is aligning more and more with the international disciplines. That'd be fine by me. At least the CMP doesn't ask me to buy gun and life insurance ever...

Re: Walther SSP or Benelli MP90S

I think you should definitely stick with the Benelli. If it's not ammo or mechanical (and based on your previous posts, you know a hell of a lot about the mechanics of pistols), then maybe it's psychological. I had an issue with my EVO 10 where I thought that one of the two cylinders that came with ...

Re: Walther SSP or Benelli MP90S

I have two Benelli MP90S's, and help coach a team with another 20 or so. The team pistols have every version of trigger imaginable, with the possible exception of the latest design. I'm not sure if Benelli made any significant changes to the inner workings of the trigger in the last round of upgrad...

Re: Best Product to Build up Grips?

Thank you I’ll look into that product. I may not need to do anything with the grips after all. They came in yesterday and right out of their shipping box off the pistol they felt wrong; however once installed the frame of the pistol added a touch of thickness and a slightly different angle than whe...

Re: Any Reviews Of Steyr Evo10E Out?

I have an Evo 10 mechanical, if that helps. I'm not the best shooter, and it's my first Olympic air pistol. Not sure how useful my thoughts would be on it.
