Re: kneeling roll
...The big plus is the reduction in weight from the doll filling that you get at walmart when flying. Its tough to try to keep that bag under 50lbs. The rice is a good Idea but it is also a bit heavy. Given the low cost of rice (v's excess baggage charges), would emptying the roll for air travel an...

Yes, they ship it by sea. Air freight tariffs are too expensive for anything that doesn't need to be expedited. I understand that commercial quantities have to come in via an explosives wharf (i.e. shipping), though I can remember a middle east team turning up by air to a World Cup with a pallet of...

screening / promoting in schools
Anybody out there running any screening / promotion programmes in schools?
Would like to set up a programme using a scatt and no live fire to get highschool students interested in pistol sport.
Why re-invent the wheel if someone already has a programme up and running....

[ I think some lots of EPS are hurt accuracy wise by the ding marks on the flat point's edges. Some of 'em are pretty big. These dents or dings from the Eley production lines can't help but change their aerodynamic properties a bit. And a bit is all that's needed to make 'em strike a bit further fr...

Yes, but usually only by a millimetre or two. There is no tolerance given in the rules for the maximum of 220mm. About 15 years ago came along one brand that needed the rear sight set to sneak in at 220mm. Then about 10 years ago came another brand that needed a bit taken off the rear of the front ...

If it really was that important I'd imagine there'd be more (at least some) air pistols weighing 1.4+ Kg and there aren't. Rob. Could be it's a bit like the 'standard' grips supplied with target pistols. Most manufacturers supply a grip that can be modified to fit - shock, horror; grind into that p...

Re: Mens Rapid Fire pistol: Lifting the pistol
The rule states that you must be in the ready position and then you ligt the pistol. Talking to one fellow at the range, he suggested that one essentially bends forward toward the target in the ready position. At the correct moment, the shooter would keep the arm and shoulder steady, and stand up s...

Re: Issf TV.
I noticed that the old link that someone gave us so we could look at the old site for watching the videos doesn't work anymore. I went to the TV home page and they have a new set up. I have tried everything to get something to come up. I have all of the media viewing drives downloaded. I wounder if...

Olympic approved means that it fits the international standards. So don't worry, I was not planning to organize the Olympics on our club! (with a max of 10 ranges.......) ;) It's easier in the long run to make your range as 'good' as possible. The 5m between the firing line and the spectator barrie...

Re: Target height shooting range
We are creating a blueprint for a new smallbore rifle range 50mtr equipped with Meyton shot-measurement. Because we want to make the range "Olympic approved" we want to have the target's on the correct height. The ISSF states: 0,75 meter (+/- 0,5 meter). This means a difference of 0,25 - ...

It would appear that I have put my foot squarely in it. My intention was not to denigrate the performance and abilities of the shottist but to make known that there is a reasonably priced rifle now available that can compete with the best. I will amend the heading of the post. Public apology to Lou...
