List of Shooting Competition Associations
Has anyone anywhere attempted to create a comprehensive listing of shooting sport associations that run or oversee competitions? A list of shooting sport disciplines? A gargantuan and Sisyphean task to be sure, but would be beneficial IMO to both prospective competitors and the associations themselv...

Re: At last ! FAS 6007 now in production
Even if it was, not that many folks shooting ISSF only and for bullseye, it'd be pretty hard to mount a decent red dot scope on it without blocking the space above the ejection port to let the mag out...unless you mounted it way forward. Depressingly, as I only shoot irons, I never even considered ...

Re: At last ! FAS 6007 now in production
God there are a lot of haters on this forum. Not being a hater. But not going to e a fan boy either. I distinctly remember them promising a low price. That's the reason I was looking into this pistol for such a long time. It's what led me to know about the the 602 and 607. But I'm damned glad that ...

6007-price.PNG Found some prices on a French store website - take off the 19% tax that they have = Eur 1113 - $AUD1770 or $USD1372 Add an amount for shipping and local taxes and you can get an idea of the price to your hot, little hands. Re: ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
I don't know why the absence of 50m rifle prone would take "all" the fun out of watching. As a new targetshooter, I don't know why there's been so much gnashing of teeth over how men's 50m prone was so critical as a separate Olympic discipline when no one seemed to mind that women's 50m p...

Re: ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
This has been discussed on here previously, do a search. Yes it is disappointing, of course they could have ADDED Women's prone, but that wouldn't achieve the IOC's goal of reducing the number of sports so that they could introduce new "sports". The IOC wanted to remove some sports/events...

Re: Snowboard Cross
Playing devil's advocate: Are we insinuating that "once an Olympic Event, always an Olympic event"? Which dropped sports should be reinstated under this philosophy, how many events should there be in the games, and how many athletes? And seeing as someone has to pay for everything, how doe...

Re: Compact Bullseye Locking Range Box
I just bought myself a Dewalt toughsystem DS150 small case for transporting my pistols. Watertight, room for two pistols and lots of small parts and tools. Matches the larger toolboxes I have. https://www.dewalt.com/en-us/products/gear-and-equipment/tool-storage/toughsystem-ds150-small-case/dwst0820...

Re: Can I save my club from itself?
I'd love to give advice, but find myself in as much of a predicament as 6string or worse. Was/am a member of a precision shooting club whose focus was small bore pistol and rifle shooting according to ISSF rules and the Shooting Federation of Canada (SFC). The city shut us down by forcing us out of ...

Gwhite is doing something (actually, a hell of a lot) to keep the sport going in the US.
On the other hand, Alexander, you complain on the Internet. Stop acting like a jerk.
Keep it up, Gwhite.

Sounds like a great plan to me. No matter what else you buy, you'll stand out at the range, but others will always compare.spektr wrote:BUY A FREE PISTOL........
Shoot free pistol and there will be no comparison possible. You'll always stick out. :p

Re: what .22 pistol would you choose?
Try all before you buy. That phrase has been one of the most frustrating since I started shooting. Even with a hugely stocked store of "standard"/tactical/cpmbat/defense/combat arms, best you can do is hold a few before the sales guy tires of you. Often can't even get a feel for the trigg...

Re: Well, isn't that special!
How much more scrutiny is applied to those applying for gun permits of any type? Do all who apply get that license? Can you keep a gun inside your home with no licensing? Significant differences. Everyone who takes and passes the written and practical tests gets a licence. Getting the Canadian RPAL...

Re: Well, isn't that special!
Yes there are many parallels to the drivers' licence. But most technical infractions of driving do not entail criminal charges, whereas all firearms-related infractions, including paperwork mistakes, can lead to criminal charges. But the point to be retained IMO is that the language that was used t...

... I'm surprised this forum doesn't enforce a no politics policy. Have to say, that you're not doing Pilk guns any favors by associating them with your anger and bigorty. To keep on-topic, unlike some, I'll tell this safety horror: A previous supervisor was a military firearms trainer. He recounte...

Over on Bullseyefurom, there was a recommendation for https://www.bobsbullets.net/.
Cant' personally say anything good or bad about them as I don't reload and have never used their products.

Re: 50m Free Pistol dropped from W/C
As I follow the discussion, I search and learn more. Is the "W/C" in this discussion the World Cup or World Championships? Once every 4 years, there's the "ISSF World Championships - All Events". the ISSF itself wants to maintain discipline parity - so equal numbers of Rifle, Pis...

Re: .22 short target pistols
That's great. I don't understand why the Olympic Committee did not see fit to make the Free Pistol open to both men and women as that seemed to be an excuse to drop it in an attempt to achieve more balance in the Olympic events. Also, at $300 each, I'd take one myself! The fault lies with the ISSF....
